I'm a long-time customer of Kelly's. Her restaurant is clean, the food is tasty, and the service is personal. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. Most of the time I hit the lunch buffet, which is very reasonably priced and has a nice variety of wholesome and tasty food. Unlike other Chinese buffets I've been too, all of the dishes have an individual flavor. Although only few of the choices are on the spicy side, none are bland, and you can taste the individual ingredients. Ordering off the menu is always an option if you don't see what you want on the buffet. There is also a nice variety of beer (including Tsing-Tao) and wine available.
I have been coming here for years! The best crab Rangoon and the prices are good. I think I have tried everything on the menu, but a couple of favorites are the special fried rice and their sweet and sour chicken!
I've reviewed this place before and gave it 5 stars. Since the ownership has changed the quality of food has gone down along with the portion sizes. All while the prices have gone up and they no longer accept their coupons even though there is no expiration date on them. I'm sad to say I will have to drive to Godfrey for good Chinese food now
I have been searching high and low for peanut butter chicken and finally found some. Let me tell you it was so good. Knock your socks off good!! Chinese Buffet had all the other buffet foods you would normally expect. My husband really enjoyed the sirloin steak and my daughter loved the green beans. The egg rolls were really tasty too. I would have liked if they had booths but the tables work. There are ladies that take your plates but no real wait staff. You really cannot beat the price, we went on a Saturday night and for two adults and a 7 year old it was only $25 and some change. One last thing, if you bring children be aware there are games, machines and a slide right in the front door. I'm sure I'm not the only one that hates the quarter junk machines!!To sum it up, go here, eat some peanut butter chicken and smile because you followed this advice!!
I have been going to Hong Kong house for over 30 years. This little restaurant is a true staple in the Alton community. The owners are fantastic and the food is amazing!!!!!!Additionally I have personally witnessed the owners give food to needy families who were short or did not have enough money to pay for their meals. This is a true testament as to the good hearts they have and how they've helped serve their community for all these years. Thank you very much for your service and efforts...
