The cruise boat on the Lake of Zug holds just in front of this garden restaurant. Middle in the nature, the Rigi mountain provides the shadow. Family type setting, the owners are involved. Not sophisticated but good value for money. Slight improvements of the menus would be helpful .

We had dinner at this place. I was informed in advanced that menu is fix but still expected more. The meal was very fresh but still boring to have a huge portion of salat, for example. Or rise could be either basmati or wildrise. In general, all was ok and the staff took into account my inquiry regarding lactose free menu for me. The view and summer day made it quite special. We dined here on our first and second nights at the related hotel (a la carte the first time and degustation the second). Both meals were highly impressive and memorable. The local ingredients were a highlight, but so too the rustic decor, excellent and knowledgeable service, beautiful presentation and preparation (a real feast for the eyes and mind) and a good selection of Swiss wines. Definitely on the return list. This restaurant easily deserves its star.

At first glance everything looks really nice at the Alpina Restaurant. Charming terrace, nicely decorated and an impressing menu card. They offer a lot a wide variety of different and good sounding dishes - and everything marked, what's for instance gluten free or vegetarian.We weren't in for lunch or dinner, but just wanted to have some dessert. It seems that they only serve ice cream (not hand made, but from a large industrial production company - sadly) and nothing else. Well, fine for us.What we received was very sad looking and it was very minimal - we asked for more toppings, but never received it. The lady serving us seemed to have been overstrained and stressed. The other gentleman serving looked and behaved happier, but somehow they did not match together at all - an odd couple. Strange scenery. Bad performance and ice cream to forget.

We've eaten here several times before and this year we went back twice. The food is consistently good. The location and setting are beautiful, sitting outside, even on a hot evening, was cool and pleasant, overlooking the lake below.Be sure to reserve, especially on weekends. The staff are friendly and professional and the dishes are excellent. One criticism: even on a bill of over 300 Swiss francs - about $315 (US) - they added 3 francs for water: ordinary TAP water(!) without even a cube of ice. (Yes, we ordered a bottle of wine too.)Aren't they ashamed of that pettiness?

Ate here twice on the summer terrace they have by the lake (July to August). You need to book because it is very popular and rightly so. Brilliant management turns the tables around quickly and although you are by the road all focus is on the lake and food. There are lovely pollarded trees providing shelter from a very hot sun. Locals mix easily with tourists as the lake ferries glide close by.The food is widely varied and 4* meaning very good. This is not refined dining but you are paying reasonable prices for both food and drink hence the popularity. Everything comes from the kitchen of the hotel across the road apart from barbecued items of which there are many. Good lamb chops first time. The team are terrific and you do not notice the travel time.Go and enjoy, but do book or be good at charming the very efficient lady who keeps the whole place in such good order.

A very positive experience. Lovely terrace but our one cool evening by the lake. Discrete blankets for ladies no problem. Apart from a family where the parents seemed not to know how to ask/tell their children not shout it was lovely. They left after 25 minutes and a nice amuse bouche.Great perch from the lake, the best I had. Excellent choices of wines quite a few by the glass. Very professional service that asked when we wanted next courses to arrive.You will enjoy this place. Classy food, good staff and the lakeside - a powerful combination!

We enjoyed in the past several times the great brunch at the Parkhotel Vitznau ânice location, great food, however are disappointed to see how poorly the restaurant is organized in terms of bookings and reservations.I booked almost 10 days ago a table for two for todays Sunday brunch, when we arrived at 11.25am and wanted to join the restaurant we were asked at the reception to wait, then asked if we fancy a glass of champagne at the reception lounge, nice offer but we actually wanted to sit down quietly at our table. We then were bluntly told the restaurant is fully booked and we have to wait, we insisted that we had a reservation and asked when a table was available. Unfortunately, the reception girl had no idea, went away to get information and we have not seen her again as after a few minutes we understandably did not want to hang around at the reception but just left.This is not the reservation management we expect â if for whatever reason an overbooking happens, we expect the restaurant to call us and inform us before we get to the place.

It is not eays to run successfully a vegan restaurant since most of the people are meat eaters and are not willing to test another experience and questioning sometimes their eating practice. Therefore, the Gersag offers at lunch time also ecological meet food. But in the evenings the restaurant is fully dedicated to non animal products. I was very positively surprised by the food. The food is not only a good, but also presented in a nicely manner. I ate the beetroot garpacio and the buckwheat minced "veg meat" dish. Boht were delicious and hardly to beat. There is also a variety of wines (ecological or even vegan). The Gersag building is not very cosy, but they decorated the restaurant well. I hope and i wish success for this highly ambitious team of this restaurant. And defintively, i will go there again.
