Located right next to the Abbey of Seckau you will find the restaurant âDer Hofwirtâ. The building has been beautifully renovated. The ambiance in the restaurant has no equal. With style and love this restaurant has been set up and we immediately felt comfortable.The service staff wear taditionelle clothing. All the staff are very friendly and efficient with a little humor. Just great - we thought to have once again found a secret.The recommended red wine from the east of Austria was really terrific.Unfortunately, then the food was served. All ordered soups were too salty. In my opinion, the chef has this already several times eien long time standing on the stove and not seasoned before the service.Before lunch we took a short tour of the region and discovered a deer breeding enclosure on a small hill near the restaurant âDer Hofwirtâ.We took this as an opportunity to experience the deer saddle offered on the menu. Also this dish was a total letdown. The saddle was cut into small pieces and was completely overcooked. The sauce indefinable. The side dishes tasteless. The presentation of the food corresponded to the level of a poor cuisine of the army. The recommended local specialty (Wurzlfleisch) was tastless. The horseradisch not fresh and the potatoes with a bad aftertaste. All main dishes were not hot.On the dessert we have dispensed with thanks.Visited this place - maybe for a drink or a glass of wine. A really nice restaurant â hopefully the owner find a way to change the kitchen, because it is a shame to serve food on this level, especially if you find high quality products in this region.

We just returned from a long journey from France and stopped for dinner at the restaurant. I decided to have a sirloin steak with pepper cream sauce. The steak was perfectly grilled and delicious. The service very attentive and friendly. I can truly recommend the place and especially the steak.

Fantastic restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. We have been many times and and always have great food and hospitality. The staff are amazing. So friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.

We eat there 3 times at our race weekend and the quality vs value was good. Views to track are exelent and you can follow the race in monitors at restaurant. Snitzel was basic and ok. Turkey pasta was exelent but entrecote steak was way too small and over done. Service was good and decoration and atmosphere great. Hard to find bettet race track restaurant from any where in Europe.

This lovely restaurant nestled in the mountains is worth a detour for lunch. The young waitstaff are clearly still in training but are friendly and attentive. The dishes are elevated versions of regional specialties that are well-seasoned and nicely presented. The most visually striking dish was the complimentary spreads to go with the bread. Overall an enjoyable lunch in a beautiful setting.
