My colleagues and I enjoyed a lovely meal at the Van Der Valk hotel. It was a works meal with a mixture of colleagues. I enjoyed the scallops starter, which was huge and the Seabass with sweet potato as the main. Both courses were very good. One of my colleagues main meals were delayed because the waitress misunderstood the order which was a shame as his meal came out considerably later than everyone elseâs but he enjoyed it all the same. On the whole the service was good and prompt. We did have to ask for additional drinks and the bill, service was not offered, but itâs no biggie. We enjoyed the evening.

Small menu but very tasteful food with excellent wines (over 20 wines on the wine menu)! Not the cheapest in Almere Haven but certainly value for money. Very nice location with good harbour view. Small restaurant run by the owners (no chain formula) with very good food. Make sure you make a reservation.

Like many others we wandered up and down the main square in Almere trying to decide between a dozen seemingly identical restaurants. We landed at this restaurant because it seemed reasonably busy. I wasnât expecting much, but in the end we were all reasonably happy with our meals. Those who had the burgers were particularly pleased. My risotto was perfectly decent. The service was a bit distracted, but the prices were ok. Overall, a pretty OK experience.

Went for a meal Sunday with family. Ordered the expensive beef option which is for 2 persons, offering 900 grams of meat. The steak was absolutely not 900grams and we honestly thought more would be brought to the table. We made our complaint to a bloke when leaving and were rudely told that it 'was what is was' and that our comments were unimportant... Literally that was said.Been to the place several times in the past 10 years I've lived in almere. Never thought it was great value and staff wise, but Sunday was ridiculous. I'm done with the place, even if it has a great view over the Noorderplassen. View stunning - menu is a lie and staff appalling. Dear Patricia,I am sorry to hear your most recent visit to our restaurant was so disappointing. Upon reading your review I immediately recognized myself as the person you spoke to before your departure, and I humbly apologize for the way I responded to your complaint. I was a little taken aback by your criticism, which came as quite unexpected. Up until that point it was my sincere belief that your stay was satisfactory, and that both the service as well as the food were to your liking. For this reason I was surprised to hear your complaints and I subsequently fumbled my response to you, which was by all accounts below par. I had not meant to be rude to you in the slightest, or dismiss your comment in any way. I actually tried to reach out to you before because I felt terrible about the situation, but was unfortunately unable to find any means to contact you. If you read this reply, I would kindly ask you to ring us up or send us an e-mail with your contact information so that I can reach out to you in person. I like to think that I am to blame for your grievance, not the Boathouse as such, and would like to correct my misstep if possible.Humbly yours,Rens SimonsAssistant Manager, Boathouse Almere
