We enjoyed our Poutine there, after a long walk from Bluebay villas We just had an issue with bill. We paid in Canadian, and bill was way too high. 5 attempts at a simple bill of 5 poutines and 2 beer. In the end we still gave $4 Canadian too much even after bill. Easiest way to upset customers when you cant do simple math.

Heading to 27 Chavos, our taxi driver, Maximo showed us this restaurant, he said they serve day boat catches. After the waterfalls we came here for a delicious fish meal, roughly $10 per person. We picked out our own fish and lobster tails! Our teenagers loved it! VERY casual. At night it is packed so get there early.Best way to get there is to hire a driver. We used Mr. Ramos excursion & travels (Maximo 829-305-6774 or 829-920-8137). He is on facebook Mr. Ramos Tours 7 Excursions. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, good English. By the way, we hired him for the full day for $100, he took us to many other sites.
Local Dominican Fish Resturant, Mid-week is quite so fast attentive service and quick service on food orders. Car park off the road in front of the restaurant on the left-hand side of the road heading uphill from Puerto Plata. They serve beer, wine, and cocktails. No Bohemian Beer available this trip so stuck to the bottled water.I went with the Lambi as an appetizer and then fried Parrot fish for my main. Others had the grill and fried Sea Bass. Bill for three with drinks $2,000 RD ( $42 USD)

You can't get fresher fish and shrimp! They literally catch it across the street! The chillo frita (fried red snapper) and camaron are fried the Dominican way and are delish! The waitresses are very attentive and try their best to communicate in English!
We had just arrived and were driving to Puerto Plata from Santiago and HAD to stop before we killed each other. Luckily we saw the signs for this place and - with a bit of pointing at what others were eating - thanks to my bad Spanish - we managed to order octopus in vinagrette and conch with garlic sauce and a large beer. All very tasty and it came to less than ten bucks total...
