Welcome to The Tasting Room located 2 doors from the Grand Theatre in the heart of Downtown London. The Tasting Room is both a bar and great restaurant. The ambiance is warm, casual and yet up scale. Lunch and dinner are served daily, while the extensive
It's always a pleasure to dine at a locally owned establishment that's maintained a strong reputation over the years. The Tasting Room's old favorites and newer dishes are fantastic. I had the seafood pasta combo with Pernod sauce, which is definitely worth ordering again. The service is friendly, professional, and attentive, unlike a lot of newer places with less experienced staff. The prices are quite reasonable. This is becoming a regular fixture on our calendar.

With hearing great reviews, my husband and I decided this restaurant would be a great choice on my birthday. We were Sat fairly quickly, in the corner of the patio. We had a look over the menu and decided on drinks. We waited. And waited. We watched 3 servers come and go to the tables around us. They made eye contact and went back inside. After seeing the table beside us have their second round of drinks while sitting there, after 39 minutes without service, we decided to leave. I let the hostess know as we passed, that our table was free, since we have not had service. She replied "ya, I know, sorry". And walked off. After almost dropping $150, I'm glad we didn't. With working in the industry for many years (both of us), we understand how busy things can get, but this was not the case. We were purposely not served for who knows what reason. Highly disappointed, and have told friends and family our experience. Go somewhere that respects you and is thankful you are spending your hard earned money at their establishment.I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly sorry I am that this happened to you in our restaurant. There is absolutely no excuse for this level of negligence and I am as shocked and appalled as you rightfully are. There was obviously a major breakdown in communication among our staff that night to say the least, and I take full responsibility for their actions (or lack thereof). I wonder if you would be willing to contact me directly so that I can personally apologize? An opportunity to make this right may feel like more than we deserve, but I am asking anyway. Please reach out to me at [email protected] with your contact information and I will respond with gratitude.Vanessa Willis, Co-owner, The Church Key Bistro-Pub

Inspired Italian-Mediteranean cuisine features pizza's, pasta's, grilled meats and fish, an extensive wine list and house-made desserts in a casually elegant atmosphere.
We ate at this restaurant which was attached to the hotel and it was very convenient after a long day's drive. We were told that it was one of the 5 best restaurants in the area. Had a pasta dish and a pizza which were both quite average. However, the restaurant had a very nice ambience and good service.Dear Macpen2014,Than you for sharing your feedback. We are disappointed that you found your experience with us just average. Thank you for acknowledging our service and atmosphere. We hope you would consider giving us another try the next time your visit our area. Thank you for dining with us.Sincerely,Natalie Zima

We booked for last reservation of the night at 8:30 and arrived late due to bad weather. But service was excellent. Our waiter had our table ready. Breezed us through the menu options. We didnât feel rushed or unwelcome as weâve experienced at most restaurants if we go close to closing time. Crostini for appetizer was a single person serving and cold. Soup was a lot though. Beet root salad was excellent. A custom order of potato gnocchi with spicy Alfredo sauce was perfect for my daughter for whom we ordered without her. Pan seared sea bream and steak were perfectly done. Duck breast was more on the medium side and a bit tough. But mushroom risotto was quite good. We didnât have time to get desserts even though the waiter was ready to get us desserts at 10 o clock. Overall food was good enough but service was excellent. The cutlery and plates were replaced appropriately timely and unnoticed after each course. Very good experience.

We are a social house, an extended living room, with a focus on strong community roots. The old village pub would have bought fresh fish from the neighbourhood fisherman, their bread from the mill, and the beef and vegetables from the farmer down the way.
The accommodating host in his kilt allowed us to select our table - at a window where we could watch the sunset.MacCoolâs offers daily pours and, on Thursdays, bottles of wine are 1/2 price. One of my favourites is VQA Pinot Grigio by Crush @$17.50( LCBO price is $12.95). They get a small mark up and the customer gets a deal. It was on ice and a wonderful match for the thick cut calamari which was served with lemon and a spicy Thai style chili dip. This lightly dusted preparation is tender and tasty and quite different from the usual crispy rings.Hubby enjoyed a large Cobb Salad and I opted to go with French Onion Soup. The broth was tasty and piping hot, the carmelized onions a little too crisp and the topping of gruyere/ provolone generous and gooey. The desserts sounded too good to skip. One very rich sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, the other a smooth white chocolate cheesecake on Oreo crust with delicious English toffee drizzle and very thin oil based whipped cream. How about some of the real stuff?Throughout, Kelly seemed to be everywhere doing everything for everybody! The duo of The Paddy Stones was entertaining with their toe tapping Irish music. They started @ 6:40 and played for an hour before taking a break! Happy music! Great evening!Donât forget to ask for your CAA discount!Hi there, thanks for the really amazing review, we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience at our restaurant and we really hope to have you back again soon!

We went to Waldoâs to celebrate our anniversary. My husband had lamb and I had salmon teriyaki. Meals were fabulous as always. Holly our server was terrific and she surprised us with an offer of complementary desserts. We were so touched by this I must say. Waldoâs is one of our âgo-toâ places for lunch and dinner. Meals are consistently great and service is as well. Thanks so much!

This place has a cool, back-to-basics vibe. The simplistic setting belies a varied and thoughtful menu of all vegan items. We had the falafel wrap, tacos would be better with corn tortillas), and sofrita crunch wrap. All were excellent! The menu also features interesting vegan twists on meaty staples such as Bangers & Mash and Fish & Chips. Oh, and the chocolate cheesecake made with cashew was amazeballs. 10/10 would dine again.

Davids is an institution in London and many regard it as one of the best restaurants in Southern Ontario. The food is always first class and yet the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual yet elegant and always an interesting selection of wine. You can't go wrong.

Carnivore? Bring your vegan friends. Vegan? Bring your carnivore friends. Vegetarian? Bring your omnivore friends....or just try our famous L.O.V.E. za or Renaissance.
Super chill vibe, place seems like it belongs on the beach in Costa Rica. The owners run this place, one in the kitchen and one in the front-of-house, Exactly how it should be done, and it shows. The pizza crust is unbelievably thin, so zen'Za double bakes them to get the bottom crust done right - and it works well. My regular crust pizza was somewhat darker and denser that I expected, but still really good (whole wheat in the dough?) I would have preferred that the oven was wood-fired, which would have added a whole new dimension to the pizzas.Toppings are delicious, and a whole side of the menu is dedicated to veggie/vegan offerings which is awesome. Gluten-free options also available.Friendly owners and staff created a very enjoyable, relaxed experience.Thank you so much for the review. We would have loved to see how our dough works with a fire/brick oven but alas we are in a highrise building. We really do appreciate you noticing and enjoying the menu and love that you get why.

Just got back from a very disappointing visit to this restaurant. I live in the neighbourhood so had high hopes. They have all the right ingredients for a super restaurant...great location, outdoor patio, lots of foot traffic but once we entered it was so so disappointing. The place was not busy but we had to wait for a server to seat us, then wait and wait for a cup of coffee. We actually approached a server and the manager about the wait but still had to wait. I had plenty of time to observe the workings of the place. The servers were busy but Tony the General Manager needs to get off his phone, get off his favourite seat at the bar and actually work with his staff instead of lifting his head from his phone and giving directions by pointing a finger.By the way Tony, i know where you hide your phone.
