This little eatery is a short walk on the other side of the bridge from Zaanse Schanse windmills. We decided to stop because of the bubble waffles on the menu posted by the doors. Boy, were we disappointed. The bubble waffle was not freshly made. We saw the cook take the pre-made bubble waffle out of the refrigerator and reheat it in the oven. Bubble waffle, two lattes, and still water totaled â¬22.90. Not a good value for pre-made bubble waffle. Cash only, does not accept American Express. The only positives are clean bathrooms and free wifi.

The menu has good variety of italian dishes to choose and the food was also very good.It's located very conveniently close to the bridge that takes you to Zaanse Schans, so we had lunch twice when we visited the windmills.We had a great time, this restaurant has an amazing view to the river and windmills.I went with my husband and the first time the service was excellent, our waiter took good care of us and was attentive to what we need; however the second time we felt abandoned it took a while for someone to take our order and our waitress didn't show up until it was time to go;it may be that they were low on staff that date.Regardless, we would recommend it and go back.Dear guest,Thank you very much for your kind review regarding your visit to Ristorante Il Mulino!Positive reviews like this will always encourage us to do more and more to make our guests happy during their visit. This great little independent cafe is on the way from Zaandam Central to the Windmill Park. We ducked in to escape the weather on an unseasonably rainy and windy afternoon and were given a warm welcome. The coffee and the blended yogurt drinks are great and there's free water flavoured with milk, as well as a cozy homely feel to the place.
