A taxi or car is the easiest way to tour Stemnitsa, a traditional village in Arcadia, Peloponnese. A late spring day with greenery made this a comfortable excursion. Urban Greeks are rediscovering their roots in village life. Tour buses frequent the town. We had lunch at the café Gerousia, with traditional taverna atmosphere. The Greek feta salad, with country bread and a frappe with grilled chicken was fresh, prepared on the spot. My favorite pastime is having a Greek iced coffee frappe with a view of the Manalo mountains of Arcadia.

Nice terrace overlooking Megalopoli valley.The shop is supposed to be a wine bar,so i tried a glass of their "selected Merlot". Although it cost only 3â¬, it was really bad!! I regret not informing the manager for my inconvenience.The chocolate cake with ice cream was fine.The hot chocolate drink was poor quality, because it tasted more like water and chocolate powder with no milk.It is sad, due to few choices in cafes in Dimitsana,not to enjoy such basic service.Dear visitor,Thank you very much for your review and your time to contribute to our TripAdvisor page. Stopped here for a late lunch on the way through. Picked this spot for the central location and awesome views. Normally I don't mind slow service when we have ample time, but on this day, it was simply a shorter lunch. I gave the server 5 minutes to so to come to us, knowing full well that often you have to call over. She looked at us and couldn't be bothered, then when I did call her over, she acknowledged, then took another 10 minutes to come with menus and then seemed irritated that we wanted to order our drinks immediately. Bare in mind, we were the only people at the restaurant at the time.Our sandwiches took a while to come, and they were nice, but nothing worth writing about.I will say, if you have time to sit and chill and let the day pass by, it's a great spot. Watching the buses and cars attempt to get through the turn was entertaining, and like I said before, the views are awesome.The tourist buses coming and going quickly can be amusing, it's like watching lemmings bump into each other and then quickly on the bus and gone.

Who would have guessed to find such an urban space in the middle of a greek mountain town? Excellent coffee and a very nice place to just be and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended.
