The ABC is housed in the old HSBC Bank in the centre of Shepton Mallet. The Building was re purposed as a Community venue, including the Rubbish Art Project that has charity funding to provide activities for all ages using recycled items.The Art Bank Cafe also hosts many evenings, such as Poetry Slams, Acoustic Open Mic evenings, and other charity fundraisers that are ALL well attended.However, it's great to just drop in for a cuppa and a cake. It is also about to get a licence to serve alcohol, so you will also be able to get a beer or glass of wine.

Discovered this busy little cafe while walking into town having parked in Waitrose car park. Located on a street corner facing a church. Seating available both inside and out.I had a lovely cream tea complete with mini tea pot - tea tasted great very refreshing. Hubby had a fabulous coffee (a bit of a coffee snob complete with extra shots) - left very happy! Staff friendly, quick and efficient. Worth a visit - enjoy!

We stopped for coffee after arriving by bus at the nearby bus station. A lovely shop selling a unique range of gifts, further inside a self service cafe serving coffee and cake to organic snacks and meals.

Great fresh in house cooked food and a warm friendly welcome. Perfectly situated in the Market Pace, Wells, in an historic building, overlooking the Town Hall and a stone's throw form Wells Cathedral.

Quite expensive when there is so much competition locally. Decent size cup for the coffee and not too much froth. Will it be my first choice cafe in Wells? Unlikely but certainly better than some of the franchises.

During a visit to Shepton Mallet I found the above Cafe. A rare place in that it is as near perfect as possible. It sells wines spirits hand made cakes and sandwiches, bread, plus it serves superb coffee.The staff were efficient polite and caring.All together a superb place to visit with old fashion values great staff and WOW the coffee. This is a very quaint small country town to come and see with the bonus of this wonderful cafe,shop and delicatessen .

Have visited on a previous occasion and were keen to return. On this occasion we were placed in the additional upstairs seating area due to it being a busy Saturday lunchtime (in itself a good sign). Was disappointed to see lots of dirty tables, neglected by the busy waiting staff. Myself and my partner both enjoyed a tasty panini & nice crispy fries (a highlight), although the waitress didn't bother to wipe the crumbs off our table, left by the previous occupants. Food, tasty and good value as before, just let down by the dirtied surroundings. The ambience lacked a bit as well, in comparison to downstairs - maybe some music?

This is a unique business, having both a very busy coffee shop, within a wool shop, selling large selections of materials, sewing needs and gifts. Its always busy, serving up light breakfasts, lunches and a vast array of delicious cakes and treats. I have given a rating of 4 out of 5, as the place needs a bigger venue, this is how nice it is.
