First ate here about 7 years ago so we were pleased to see Brambles going strong. Called for lunch: seafood platter, macaroni cheese, apple strudel and two glasses of white wine, plus sausage rolls to take home for tea. Even though the place was packed the service was friendly & efficient and out lunch first class!

Royal Burgh Bistro is situated in the main street in the heart of Inveraray. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. The restaurant is a wee bit dark, but clean. We ordered a series of sandwiches for me and my group. The club sandwich my wife has was disappointing. The middle slice of bread in the three-layer sandwich was slathered, on both sides, with pesto sauce, which gave the sandwich an awful taste. We complained, but the waitress did not appear interested in changing it. Pesto is not an ingredient of a club sandwich and should not be included unless it is clearly stated on the menu.One of our group had a sandwich with meatballs in it, which she loved. I had a smoked salmon sandwich that was also good.

Asked for panini which was on the wall menu,oh were not doing hot food today panini or soup !Why did they not take menu down as lots of people asked for the !Took egg mayo sandwich,yuck,no crisps or salad or chives,just basic egg sandwich as for the scone it disintegrated when cut,also very strange lady muttering all the time,do not go here.Was told they were short staffed !
