We stopped at Perron during our tour to Giethoorn. The Cafe is located at Steenwijk Station from where buses and taxis are needed to reach Giethoorn. Our bus was after 30 minutes of our arrival, so we decided to sit at the station Cafe for refreshment.A lovely lady pleasantly asked for our order. We ordered hot chocolate and Americano, she advised us to try their home made apple pie, so I went ahead with that suggestion. Coffee was above average for a station cafe, apple pie was fresh and delicious.What I loved about this place was the concern lady showed for what we were served. She came to our table to ask if anything needed replacement, this is quite unique for a rail station cafe. When we finished and tried to pay the check, she told that card machine wasn't working. I told her card payment is mentioned outside (due to some past mishap, I don't carry cash on places which need long train travel from hotel), she was apologetic and told me it was her mistake not to inform before so she would wave off the check as there was no ATM nearby. I said we would definitely pay and luckily found some cash on us, a little 20 cents short. She was very obliging despite all that.You hardly find station cafe's run by people like this, usually the service is really plastic as they know most guests are passersby. Full marks to Perron 3 for such positive customer service.

A nice laid back restaurant in a nice laid back city. Even though there is an English guide that has categorised Meppel as "only chance busses here", if you are there, or the busses are late, have a drink or dine out at de Nachtwacht. Simple menu, friendly people.

We visited this restaurant with friends who live in Meppel. It is incredibly good value and we had three courses for 14.50 euros. Very good for the price and atmosphere and service excellent.

We went here for lunch after a local recommendation. It's a great cafe and the food and service were excellent. I had a great chicken salad and my friend had goats cheese salad. Very happy with our choices.

We kwamen hier per toeval langs tijdens een uitgebreide wandeling. Een erg leuke verrassing. Je krijgt er een uitgebreid theeservies, een hele pot voor z'n tweeën en dat lest de dorst uitstekend. De thee was heerlijk en de prijs kun je gerust goedkoop noemen.

Zeer sfeervol kroegje met prima plek om te eten. Bediening is naast zeer vriendelijk ook nog eens ter zake kundig voor wat betreft advies voor een passend glas speciaal bier. Het is natuurlijk altijd leuk als de keuken even aan tafel komt voor een praatje. Kortom even buiten Meppel, een aanrader waar je het gelach vanuit de kroeg voor lief neemt.
