We visited Grenfell to enjoy the beautiful historic buildings & soak up the Henry Lawson atmosphere ..... well worth the journey . On the lookout for a lunch stop we spotted this small cafe with âlook at meâ banners out front . Itâs located in a lovely old heritage building in a huge airy space , pressed metal ceilings & an old fireplace ... ( must be nice in winter ) . The food was exceptionally good ... freshly prepared with good quality ingredients ....Exactly what you hope to find in a small country town . The chicken toastie was crisp & delicious , with plenty of salad , & cooked to perfection . The coffee was good too ...Bonus !! The young couple who run this cafe have been there all of 3 months & deserve every success ...... go & have lunch there

There arenât many places to get a meal in Grenfell in mid-afternoon; I had a curry pie with some potato in it, and a piece of cake, for $8.40. There are tables and chairs inside and on the footpath; they also serve coffee, but I didnât have any.The town is interesting for its 19th century gold rush streetscape.

We had the best ploughmans lunch at a very reasonable price that we have tasted in years. The staff were so helpful when we needed local directions and are obviously well known in the town.After a long day and a lot of driving with more to go before we arrived home, this was a lovely place to have a simple, fresh and very tasty light lunch.

We went to Grenfell to visit friends and after 3 weeks on the road the coffee and amenities were on top of the list. The service was excellent and we just had a light breakfast/morning tea. the cakes are locally cooked and the muffins had been baked the morning of our visit, definitely not processed and thawed because you can tell the cakes and slices have real country flavour

The restaurant at Grenfell Bowling Club is open Thursday to Saturday with a pleasant family atmosphere. As well as club staples like chicken schnitzel, hamburgers, fish and chips and steak, chef Mark produces interesting dishes like lamb shanks, duck with green Thai curry, and a chocolate and orange cake for the more discerning diners. On Thursday nights there is also a $20 buffet, and on Wednesdays, take-away pizzas.
