The afternoon tea was lovely. There was a nice deletion of scones , sandwiches and cakes. The service was nice and quick. The food was so lovely we demolished it in less than half! Will definitely return as itâs so lovely and local. Would definitely recommend.

Stopping at days inn hotel conected to the services,food was tasty here good choice for breakfast and meals overall not bad friendly staff also

We went yesterday for a bottomless prosecco brunch, four of us. We pre-booked for 11am. The food was delicious, I ordered the shakshuka and it was heavenly and came with ample sourdough toast. My friends all had the Bear Breakfast which they enjoyed. Only comment is that they don't have baked beans on the menu, a staple of British breakfasts! Not that it would stop me going again, just a small observation. The food arrived quickly after ordering, it only took about 10 minutes. I had expected our glasses to be topped up by staff when we were empty, however that was not the case; we were left a bottle on the table to help ourselves which staff swapped in good time when it was empty. Service was friendly and the place is nice inside. I'd certainly return (hoping to repeat the experience) and would recommend to others.Hey Katy,Thanks for the lovely review! Well, just by chance we found this place and we will undoubtedly be back.Menu great, drinks lovely, very reasonable priced what more could you ask for ..... OH Maybe its the lovely friendly staff or maybe the Royal theme. What more could you want. This is just great.

Went there for afternoon tea on Saturday and as always nothings changed , the whole experience was amazing the staff are always cheerful and happy to help ,we have tried others but there is no comparison to the best THANKYOUMore and more folk are taking afternoon tea here with us Mike and I am so pleased that you found it all 'amazing' when you came in on Saturday. To deem us to be the best - with no comparison - has made my day and thanks for writing that, and indeed for rating us so highly on here. As an aside we have just commissioned a private room upstairs and already it has been booked for an afternoon tea party which I gather was a great success. Just back from a lovely afternoon tea lots of nice fresh sandwiches lots of choice. Scones were warmed up when we were ready for them which was a nice touch. Had to have a take away for the rest if the cakes.

called in for quick lunch, service quick and efficient. Transport café type of food. Ordered pie and chips which was served with the pie covered in a thick layer of gravy dark brown in colour like treacle. Tasted unpleasant and left a nasty after taste. Wont be back.Hi colin i am the owner of the star cafe. Really sorry for your bad experience that you had with us. Please take my apology and you more than welcome to claim a free home made pie and chips that prepared to your perfection. Looking forward to see you many thanks

Me and my wife were recommended the tickled trout for breakfast and were not disappointed both breakfasts were perfect. It was very busy that day so we had to wait for a while but were told this when ordering so did not mind and were also told we could have our teapot filled back up if we ran out of tea which was great. Will definitely be returning soon
