Daisy Chain Deli

Met my mate here for a breakfast catch up. Its a much better venue now than it was when it first opened. It didn't seem to know whether it was a Delicatessen or a Cafe. Now its a Cafe and quite a good one.The full breakfast (large) is good. Two sausages of reasonable quality but not everyone appreciates the Artisan sausages packed full of meat. In fact my lot wont eat a sausage if 'Its got lumps in it".Mushrooms were fine, Bacon was good nicely cooked and there was lots of it. Hash Browns were crisp and dry. There was a large portion of Beans, Maybe too big as it spilt all over the plate. couple of fresh grilled Tomatoes and two very nicely cooked eggs (Fried) filled the plate almost to bursting. Thankfully the toast (theres a choice of bread) was served on a separate plate or it would have been impossible to eat. This is a good breakfast if a little expensive and I would have liked a larger plate to accommodate the food. The tea came in a big pot with an offer to top us up if we needed more.Cups were nice too, not too big and rather nicely shaped. There was no sauce or salt and pepper on the table but the server offered to bring this if we needed it.Seating was comfortable, there was plenty of space and we could watch the world go by through the big windows.Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in this place has improved considerably and is a welcomed addition to the village.

The Acorn Cafe

Popped in for a coffee stop on bike ride from Bath. Plenty of space inside and out.Helpful staff and nice fresh coffee. While the Acorn Cafe is just by a busy road it is at the rear of the build it is peaceful there . They only accept cash which is a pity as I would have ordered more otherwise.Clean toilets and decent menu - will try and get back there one of these days.Thank you for your lovely response and we appreciate feed back. The issue with have with having a card machine is that we are in a very poor WiFi area and it used to take ages to connect or connect at all. We are however looking into other options for the near future. Regards

The food is always good, and while portions are not so big, it does off value for money. The ordering and paying system is bizzar, and I have had occasion when staff have found it odd that I don't know their odd system as well as they do. They work there don't they? Since the café has been revamped, there seems to be more seating available, and the coffee bar is good, if not often manned.

I popped in to this neighbourhood cafe and what a pleasant surpriseIt was busy, which is always a good sign and I was told it would be 20mins with it being so busy but I didn't mindThe coffee came from a proper machine and was really good. The food came and as well as being fairly priced was of infinitely better quality than the chain pub breakfasts. The staff were really friendly and efficient, the place was spotless and was also family friendly. Thoroughly recommended

I just love the whole Ridgewood Community Centre set in a beautiful victorian buildings, built in 1840 as a Work House. It has a lovely modern cafe tucked between two buildings, which serves amazing hot chocolate, made with real chocolate and great home made lunches, all made on the premises. And the staff are friendly and accommodating.Well worth the visit.

We are always looking for good places for breakfast and this really hit the spot. The traditional breakfast was well cooked and tasty but the veggie breakfast was exceptional. Anywhere that serves halloumi is a big hit with me and it was cooked to perfection. Really lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Staff friendly and polite without being in your face. Highly recommend. Hi Thanks for the review and for your great comments. This is much appreciated and it sounds like you had a really enjoyable experience with us.It would be interesting to know what you would like to see to enable us to gain a five star rating in the future!Kind regards and hope to see you again.RegardsCostas

My wife and grandchildren visited for breakfast. My wife asked if the children could have scrambled egg instead of fried or poached egg, she was told there we’re to busy. When the food came out one of my grandchildren said the beans tasted off. My wife tried them and they tasted disgusting. So they said they would replace the whole meal. By the time it came out my granddaughter had eaten half her sisters meal. They did offer a refund if my granddaughter did not want it but she was still hungry. The waiter did actually comment there was nothing wrong with the beans to which my wife replied “have you tried them” No reply? I can’t believe it takes longer to make scrambled egg than it does to poach an egg? And say there was nothing wrong with the beans. The whole experience was not very nice and my wife has no intention of going there again. Hi There,Firstly my apologies on your below par experience with us. There are certainly some things you've mentioned which i'd like to discuss. If you could possibly email me directly at [email protected]. We do try and cater for our guests as much as we can. Sometimes we are quite busy when at capacity but we do try our best during peak service. Unfortunately at the moment we are slightly short on team in the kitchen so this may have been why you were told no. I am glad you had a fresh meal, In response to the beans we would've sent out 100's of portions on the day of your visit so it's unfortunate you weren't keen on these. I can assure you a fresh tin was opened however for your replacement dish.Look forward to hearing from you,Kind Regards,Carl,General Manager

Possibly due to the reviews we were expecting something really exceptional and sadly it wasn’t.The menu had lots of choice. The premises were exactly as expected. The disappointing thing about here was the service. It seemed to be a huge effort for the lady behind the till to serve us. She was impatient as we tried to decide what we wanted and came across as quite rude. I’m sure it must be annoying to have paying customers, who have never been before, and have seen such great reviews (and one verbal recommendation) need to take a bit of time to assess the menu but if you are the “welcome” face of a business you need to hide your annoyance better.I’m very sorry that we inconvenienced you!!I am very sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service you were given. We strive to make everyone feel welcome and to always offer a friendly and polite service, even when faced with the most challenging customers. It appears we failed on this occasion for which I apologise and I will remind everyone to try harder, no matter what the circumstances are. Thank you for your feedback.
