I was a little unsure of the place initially although i was not in fairness a regular. Recently, the more i visit the place, the more i enjoy it and appreciate how good it is. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon with two retired ex colleagues. As it happened their own cask beer price was reduced due to happy hour all afternoon till 7. Beer was in top condition, prefered the taste of the 4.2% pale. The brewing coppers at the front and the smell of the brewing process adds to a nice experience. Advertised is a day with the brewer, includes breakfast and lunch, tastings and a take home keg at the end of the day. Great value at £85. Altogether a great place for a catch up with friends Thanks for the 5* review! We dined here on Saturday for my birthday with my children. The restaurant temperature was extremely hot and was told the air conditioning was broken. There was a large party of approx 10/12 adults in the same area, who were very loud. This would be ok but the language was foul and totally inconsiderate. Maybe when seating guests it may be better to accommodate this issue better as we too was celebrating a birthday, however our experience wasnât enjoyable. The steak was cooked beautifully. I did order a jacket potato instead of chips However got served chips. There was also a hair in my dessert too. We spent £160 and did not enjoy the evening at all. This is such a shame as our last visit in May was great. Overall extremely disappointing not sure if or when we will return. Hi Ellen, we are disappointed that you left us feeling disappointed. We are happy to hear that our steaks were cooked beautifully but we are not so happy that you had other issues on your visit. We have been hard at work, investigating your concerns and have since had our air conditioning fixed and continue to improve our standards further by taking your comments on board.
