Well this I never expected: Munching on delicious pulled pork on a custom-made onion bun while my wife enjoyed authentic poutine.... in the middle of Costa Rica. This diversion from authentic fare in CR was an exception, but very good. The couple are ex pats from Canada, and they are as charming as the food is good. Worth a lunchtime visit.

Maracuya is the on site restaurant at the Bahia Pez Vela resort villas where we were staying. On our first night it was easy to walk over after a long trip. We were not sure what to expect , but our food was superbly prepared and we met our server for the week,Cesar. Cesar and the other staff work tirelessly to ensure your visit is special. Even the poolside lunch menu was quite good with excellent smoothies. Some nights there were local entertainers making a very enjoyable evening. Our meals at Maracuya were the best we had during our visit to Costa Rica.
