most reviews here are positive, the pics are great and show a relaxig place with beer, barbecue and music... seemed to be the best place to have lunch on a sunday in blumenau.great mistake! in reality, we found a very crowded place that accepts animals and offers the worst table service ever.no exageration, its definitely the worst service, since the waiter not even bother to take our orders, but simply tried to convince us not to order. i never found anything like in any other place.every dish we tried to order the waiter would say it takes too long, more than 40 minutes... at first we thought he was being honest and nice to us, but every option we pointed he said it would be "too long, more than 40 minutes"... even the appetizers!we started to think he was trying to change our minds about eating there, it was definitely strange, and he not even brought us the water and beer we ordered before hand. we were left in hour table for 15 minutes trying to decide what to do after the waiter went to see other tables and finally decided to leave.we most definitely felt he didnt want us there and we decided to try and find another place to eat.to sum it up, this experience led me to the following reflection - if the table service is this bad, if they treat us like this, imagine what might be happening in the kitchen? - that's why i can not recommend this place to anyone, although i sincerely hope such treatment was exceptionaly for me.

The hours posted were wrong it opened at 7 pm so I had to wait for an hr. When closed you can walk right by it and not notice it because it doesn't have a big sign. Ended up hanging out with some cool locals at the corner store right beside it while I waited. Very nice people. Finally decided to go in after a "few" drinks. The place is kind of dark, but it's nice. Ordered the Galeto primo canto (young chicken) eventhough I was tempted by the steaks. I've always heard rave reviews about the chicken and how awesome it is so I was very excited to try it. The chicken came with an excessive amount of sides, enough for two or three so good thing I only ordered the half a chicken as I was by myself. It came with a huge lettuce salad with bacon, fried chicken pieces and sauted chicken livers as an appetizer and two plates of pasta which I think you can choose but I just told the waiter what ever is the most popular because I didn't understand the choices (No Portuguese). My surprise pasta sides where gnocchi with a tomato sauce and wait for it.... Chicken tomato sauce spaghetti. The chicken tomato sauce was awesome by the way remind me of my grandmas sauce. Anyways back to the main course... It was awesome grilled chicken but I thought it would be something magical. It was chicken... But Im glad I crossed that off my culinary bucket list though. Everything was pretty good the prices are fair and the service was normal. Next time I go visit my new corner store friends I'll try a steak.

This was my third visit to Ataliba. We enjoyed their well stocked salad and buffet bar (fish, pasta, rice, beans, etc) and then survived the torrent of various meats: picanha, veal, pork, ribs, chicken, lamb... it was all very, very good. The facilities are clean and the service is excellent.

This is a Blumenau MUST! It's conveniently located near the Vila Germanica. Their service, steaks and setting are amazing! It's quiet and intimate. Perfect for either business or pleasure. Our party of five devoured three entrees: picanha, ribs and ribeye plus grilled hearts of palm, beer and wine.
