Visited here, a couple of times last year, and was quite pleased with everything . Visited Sunday last , 2 pensioners 2 under 8’s,a vegan and a gluten-free. 5 of us chose the Sunday carvery .the leek and potato soup was absolutely delecious , as was the accompanying warm roll. The meats, choice of three were absolutely fine , but the vegetables, oh dear ...undercooked leeks in bechamel , well over cooked carrots, salty red cabbage , done to death Yorkshire’s and roast potatoes . gravy was acceptable. My son’s vegan main course ,was very crudely put together and underdone, to be fair, there wasn’t a vegan option on the menu , and chef “conjured up” a meal for him Service was pleasant and friendly, not at all professional, but suited us fine. Busy and very clean restaurant. Easy parking ,

Ty Gwyn Hotel

This was our favorite pub on our recent two week trip to London and Wales. It had our favorite meal and favorite ale. The new owners are wonderful. This is NOT the same Ty Gwyn Hotel that is already listed on Trip Advisor. (Ty Gwyn is a popular Welsh name

Loved this very traditional Welsh pub in Capel Curig, within walking distance from Moel Siabod and a base for the end of many other fab walks in the area.Seating available outside if you want to enjoy the view but the seating inside is great too with a fire to keep warm! This place is dog friendly and serves great Welsh ale which I highly recommend!

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Wales. Excellent location, great room size, comfortable beds, great facilities and an excellent breakfast included. Thought was great value for money, friendly staff and the pub in the evenings was also delicious. There is no car park allocated to the hotel, however there is plenty of options to park over night and it does state no car park on the website so this is no issue.

We recently visited here for Sunday lunch, encouraged by the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, so we looked forward with anticipation to our meal. To be fair, for the most part, the food was good, although the menu choices are a little dated. The Sunday Roast was fine, but the veg choice a bit strange. Maybe they were using up what they had in the larder. I was a little disconcerted to have my parfait dessert served in a crereal dish, filled to the brim, but with no garnish or embellishments. I think a little more finesse is expected these days. The staff were friendly enough, but obviously the Sunday lunch at this establishment caters mainly for the local clientele as, other than us, all were greeted personally by name. It has to be said, that the vast majority were in an older age bracket too!The “time warp” theme continued in the toilets, with 1970’s sanitary ware in brown. A refurbishment is long overdue here. It’s unlikely that we’ll visit this restaurant again, it was just a little dated for us. There is a difference between traditional and old fashioned!

Food choices limited but ok. Went here on Monday night because our preferred choice is The Old Ship which is closed on Monday. Went here last year and it is definitely improving. From time loud music was a bit over powering which is a shame. They face a difficult choice about not changing too much and losing local customers but at same time making it better for tourists in the area.

Went here with friends after a good walk. Friendly staff and good value roast. Food very good and staff friendly.Unfortunately the Beer wasn’t great, the coffee was dreadful and squirty cream on the pudding was a let down, albeit the pudding was fine.If not for the above would have given an excellent.

Booked for bank holiday Monday night for my birthday meal with the family (6 in total), very homely feeling place with smiling and helpful bar staff. Drinks were very well priced, food was quite expensive I thought but once the mains came (we didn’t have starters) they were huge portions so worth the money. Very tasty and well recommended. All in all a great meal and would certainly visit again

The Old Ship Inn

This is a great old traditional pub that takes you back to the days of old. There is not a lot of room to move around in the bar, but thankfully, there is an additional dining area for guests/ parties downstairs or in the garden. We choose to stay by the bar, and we were very surprised by how busy it was for midweek and the size of the village! The menu is well balanced and varied and the portions ensure you are well fed! The homemade pie was excellent, as was the fish & chips. The service was welcoming and friendly - glad there was no wifi! The town has two pubs and both have excellent Chefs! Venture out of the city and come visit!
