Geneseo /ˌdʒɛnɪˈsiːoʊ/ is a town in Livingston County in the Finger Lakes region of New York, United States on the far south end of the five-county Rochester Metropolitan Area. The population was 10,483 at the 2010 census. The town and surrounding area is quite rural. The English name "Geneseo" is an anglicization of the Iroquois name for the earlier Iroquois town there, Gen-nis-he-yo (which means "beautiful valley"). A village of the same name lies within the town's western portion. The town is known today mainly as the home of the highly selective State University of New York at Geneseo.

We usually go here for "wing night" on Thurs night. It is a bar but the food is good too. On "wing night" wings are 50 cents. There a several different flavored sauces that are all equally as good. The last time I had a chef's salad with the wings that was a good size with many items included. Another couple had a pasta dish that was a more than adequate size.

This is not a Gourmet-class establishment. BUT -- based on just two visits, both within the past couple weeks, I can call this a friendly small-town pub where you can buy a sensibly-sized flavorful lunch plate at an affordable price. Food arrives hot after an appropriately short wait. My senior-citizen lunch bunch (12-15 individuals) met there for the first time a couple weeks ago. I think we all enjoyed the clean, relaxed dining area and the good service, and appreciated affordable food that satisfied our reduced senior appetites. I had a beer and their signature burger, "the Dale", which arrived hot and tasty, loaded with attractive condiments. My plate was empty and my belly was comfortably full when we left. Last week my wife and I motored to Avon from Geneseo specifically to try their Wednesday-special chili, among other choices. It was well worth the drive.Our experience with this venue is limited to lunch. They serve supper, too, I believe, but only on some days.

Fantastic Ribeye special! Cooked to perfection. The chowder soup was one of the best Iâve had. Service was excellent and staff very friendly and accommodating. Perfect location right on the water. The tavern section is a very nice and happy local bar with a good selection and a small selection of bar food. They pour a decent Guinness.The restaurant is also happy and friendly, with lots of locals and on weekends is busy thus reservations suggested. They have a good but not extensive salad bar, my only complaint is that it's iceberg.The menu is varied and there are specials on most nights. We have had some really good meals and unfortunately some that were only mediocre. I suspect this has to do with turnover of chefs. The wait staff is good and with one lady who seems to have been there forever. It is an historic building in good shape and one can sit on the front porch and watch Livonia go by on a warm evening. The walls are covered in local art and are available.Ralph Parker, the proprietor, is a friendly and helpful host and always seems to be there to greet. He hosts a really good St. Patty's day dinner that requires reservations and the place is packed. He also supports many local musicians and there is at least one monthly jam session per month if not more.

My reviews are rated based on expectations, It is VG as a diner and breakfast food. It is however a diner not fine food but is friendly with plenty regulars and the service is quick and efficient. The server is happy to bring the morning paper and provide coffee refills as long as you stay. The fare is as expected: edible, plentiful, quick and filling. We have only had breakfast there thus can not rate their other meals. We are happy to return.

This Applebee's is no different from any other. However, there are some good menu items, servers are eager to please, and meals are served promptly. People seem to enjoy the sports bar section of the restaurant. There was also a weekly trivia night at one point, but I don't know if that still occurs.

We came in and got seated right away. Serving time wasnât too bad but when our order came - wasnât complete. I never did get my side of coleslaw. Had a burger and fries no offer of ketchup. Ordered another drink 10 minutes later still hadnât arrived. The manager came to ask how our meal was told her about the drink dilemma she did give us s free drink. Waitress never checked to ask how the meal was. Offered us ketchup after I was dine with my burger. Brought the bill and never offered us desert. First and last time here. Food was great too bad service wasnât.

Four of us came on Easter Sunday to have a quiet dinner. The place is homey the food is decent. Apps were very good. Our entrees were plentiful though seems pricey for the area imo but that's fine. Server was pleasant for most of our dinner till the end. Never got a thank you, or a smile when she returned the change from my husband's 20% tip. To top it off - ignored us as we filed past her on the way out, not so much as a good bye, thank you, come again, have a good evening. Lol well ok I hear you loud and clear! we won't be coming back here due to the rudeness and it was our 3rd time but no more.I would like to apologize for your poor experience at our restaurant. My husband and I try to go weekly for their wing night and sit at the bar to eat when Chris is bartending. Great beer selection. Amazing service. Been trying different options on the menu and nothing has disappointed so far.
