travel to brussels the first time, only stay for one night, and of course have to go mussels & fries. Checked this one online and made a reservation, which turned out to be very wise, coz so many customers coming. Lovely vibe, warm service, and most of all, truly delicious beer, mussels(garlic+cheese flavor) and fries (w/Mayonnaise source), and good value for price (27euro in total).

No telephone. No reservations. No credit cards. Simple place, simple food.
This is a busy restaurant which is popular with students. The portions are a good size and traditional Belgian cuisine. However, it is not particularly cheap and the selection of drinks is not what you would typically expect. It is loud and not very comfortable for an evening.Great if this is what you are looking for, but there are better choices in my view.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Grimbergen Café brasserie is located across from the last vestiges of the cityâs first walls, on a lively street at the entrance of the prestigious Place Sainte Catherine neighbourhood. The Grimbergen Café is know
Visited on a Tuesday evening with a group of 9 people. About. 10 minute leisurely walk from Grand Place, steps away from St. Catherineâs. The place has a good business but the hostess fit us in quickly. Drinks came equally fast and dinner was out before we knew it. The staff was friendly and responsive throughout and the food was excellent. I had the house beer and beer-braised beef stew and was very happy. My colleagues had a variety of dishes including the chicken skewers, meatballs, mussels, and chicken croquette. All good reviews! Highly recommend for groups and I would visit again!

Sweet little restaurant close to the Grand Place. Very friendly. You have to try the carponade de flamande which is beef cooked in beer - the beef is so tender it melts in the mouth. And the best fries in town. We tried this dish in one other restaurant and it was not that good. Also had the mussels and chips- again excellent. You would be mad to miss this place!
