Stopped in for dinner while in Exeter for 3 days. Will be moving here shortly, and are sampling some of the local favorites. Enjoyed a veggie pizza that was really very good. Tasty crust, lots of fresh veggies that were sliced thin for greater flavor, and tried some of the local draught beer. Loved our first trip here, and when we move, we will sure to return to try more menu items. Thanks for stopping in! We truly appreciate the fantastic review, and look forward to seeing you more often once you move!

Located adjacent to the Exeter River at the site of the former Exeter Great Dam in an historic building, this restaurant pub offers wonderful views of the river below. I enjoyed a specialty apple cider concoction along with my lobster roll over a late lunch. Friendly service and updated, attractive interior, this is an inviting spot for drinks or dining. Enjoy!

During the winter months, do not plan to stop in with a large group or family of 5 without a LONG wait. If you are a family, try one of the other places within a 1/2 mile with less wait and MORE parking. Again, the Moose has very limited parking and handicap access is very poor. They have been using the parking lot next door but then you need to walk across the snow covered ground or icy ground. This place is more of drop in for a beer by yourself or only a couple. Once summer arrives let’s hope that this helps out with the long wait and the poor parking. The food has been on average good and the Thursday half price pizza is a good deal.

Tavern At Rivers Edge

This was our first time trying this restaurant. We found it on Restaurant.com and it was in our town. The dining room was empty so we opted for the "lounge". It was very loud and the waitress, while trying to be attentive, missed the boat. My husband ordered a wedge salad and a "rare" burger (the waitress assured him they would cook it anyway he liked). I ordered the glazed salmon with rice and veggies. I asked what the vegetable was and the waitress replied, "maybe broccoli or maybe carrots or green beans, I can't remember if I served any today". The wedge salad and bread were good but that is where "good" ended. The burger was well done and the fries were cold. My salmon was very "fishy smelling and tasting", overcooked and the rice and veggies were cold. I left my whole meal (minus a few bites of rice and veggies) and the burger would have been left also but he was starving. He did leave a good portion of (this never happens with my husband). We were hoping we found a local place but we will never go back.
