The Bull is an atmospheric restaurant in a wonderful old building. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive and it was good value for money. The desert trolley was temptation on wheels! A great experience.

Stopped here on our walk through Burnham Beeches. Quaint, cozy pub with two areas of outdoor seating. Beautiful day! Lots of beers to choose from. We had a few pints, peanuts and chips and continued on with our walk! Make sure to stop. Food is supposed to be very good as well!

What a great pub steeped in history that caters as well for locals as it does visitors. It is a traditional Pub offering a good selection of draft ales and lagers, with a comprehensive food menu all at very reasonable prices for the area. For those looking for a nice wine there is also a fantastic selection from the 'cage'. Being just a 10 minute detour from the River Thames tow path, its cosy ambiance with real log fire in the winter provides a welcome stop for those out on a walk or stroll. The fiendish but fun quiz on a Thursday evening is always popular.

A lovely historic pub with ample parking, ample interior space, lovely beer garden and friendly staff. The Sunday roast was delicious, adequately portioned and reasonably priced. An enjoyable lunchtime experience.

Booked originally for two (plus pup), increased at short notice to 5 and had a lovely bright table. Interiors look lovely and garden has had a big face lift (not that it needed it) but much improved. Food excellent, staff helpful and friendly.

We have eaten in this lovely country pub and restaurant a few times now and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and efficient, the decor is just lovely and the food is delicious. We had a table outside this time and what I love is that those tables were dressed just as nicely as the ones inside. There is a good attention to detail and standards that seems to remain across the years. Whilst visiting Cookham decided to call in this cosy pub for dinner. We hadnât made a reservation but the nice guy behind the bar found us a table. The eating area inside isnât massive but is comfortable and the food we ordered was delicious. I had the fish and chips and my husband opted for the homemade pie. We visited on a Wednesday evening and it was busy. There appeared to be a lot of locals just having a drink which is a good sign these days. Anyway, enjoyed our first visit and found the staff to be friendly. Will visit again in the future.

Overpriced food for what you end up with. Staff were friendly and helpful.Ordered Ribeye steak, had to saw through ,, very tough and unable to completely chew, extremely disappointing . I did complain and they took it off the bill.Would not bother going back.

On a lovely sunny day we decided to eat outside. Last roastof the season we thought. The food was cold as we got it. They should really heat the plates. Large chunk of stewing beer which was rare and not pleasant to each cold. Very fatty. Tiny portion of veg and Yorkshire pudding dried out. Gravy was a kind of sugary treacle. Overall the roast didn't taste of anything. £15 is probably the going rate but it didn't seem like good value for money.

We called in here for a meal after visiting Cliveden and from the moment we opened the door the welcome was friendly. The new owners have refurbished the place and are great hosts. We ate a delicious meal - there is a decent choice on the menu and the portion sizes were perfect.
