This small castle holding in the hills just beyond Villach is a perfect casual lunch or dinner spot. A gentle walk from ample carspaces with quiet a few stairs to the top.But oh what a view and oh what food and hospitality. They hold concerts in the area but we just went to experience the history of the castle and the great very local food.Excellent.

This is restaurant with relaxing and lovely atmosphere. Food was very good, steak perfectly done and fish & shrimp stew was great.Very good dessert, good choice of wine, service professional, good value for money. Recommended!

Very nice location with excellent view on the mountains. Very tasty food, we tried different types of meat including deer. They serve also local sweet food which we need to try next time!

We found this place by chance as we had to wait for entry to the Karnten Therme in Villach. We weren't expecting much to be honest but the food was amazing. Beautiful setting with pasta cooked to perfection. My husband had a salad nicoise which was wonderful. Great service even though we spoke very little German and the staff spoke very little English but we got by with smiles and good humour.Great value for the meal we had. The restaurant was well signposted which is how we found it. We also bought some of the pasta for sale in the shop attached and that was beautiful. Austrians were driving here to buy huge bags of pasta so I guess it is a well known place for the locals but a very lucky find for us on our day trip to Austria!I totally recommend it - it was the best meal of our two week holiday.

Beautiful local Austrian family restaurant. With traditional food and hospitality. We enjoyed a meal with family. Clear soup, tuna salad, and the mixed grill. All of it was really fresh, and beautifully cooked and presented. We will definitely enjoy it again!

Came upon this jewel on the roadside.. and so happy that we did!The regional ravioli were heavenly as we're the calamari, served with a delicious warm baguette. For dessert, the apple strudel was just excellent while the warm crepe with ice cream also a winner.The portions were nicely sized, the service lovely and the bill very honest for the amount, quality and goodness of the food. We spent â¬30/person (we drank quite a few beers as well) and couldn't be happier! Highly highly recommended. Bravi!!
