We visited Forbes for a bowls weekend and found this little gem by accident. They have a great specials menu with a variety of dishes for $15. We had the double beef and bacon burger, 250g rump and the beef snitzel. All were very generous in size and very tasty. Mushroom sauce was beautiful and creamy. Sarah was very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. Pub itself is a little tired but the food was great.

These guys are great. The food is good quality, the service is good, the staff are cheerful and friendly, the prices are good. Highly recommended for great takeaway.

Service here is very slow regardless of the day of the week you order. Pizza price is ok but topping choices have been the same since it opened. They need to move with the times and mix up the menu a bit, instead of serving the same old styles even just add a few new things. Sometimes the pizzas are delivered almost cold or very over cooked to the point it's hard to tell one pizza kind from another. I thinks it can be a bit hit and miss as to what you get. Delivery drivers are always nice and friendly.

I dined at the Forbes RSL bistro, I ordered a rump steak and vegies, when I ate it, the steak melted in my mouth, it was absolutely delicious, the staff were very friendly and I had a great dining experience, I mentioned to the on duty manager that I was a visitor to Forbes, he then proceeded to give me a guided tour of the club, I played the pokies (with no luck) but Im very impressed by this friendly establishment and bistro

A m most interesting way of displaying their food fare on a variety of notice boards around the bar and the adjoining foyer, without repeating themselves once. Maybe a chance for the staff to interface with clients which they did well and very friendly. Fair range at affordable fare served in good quantities which left us well fed. $15 - $20 a main.Recommended.

We stopped by this club for lunch on a road trip. They have a good range of lunch specials seven days a week, which is very good value.We ordered the steak sandwich with chips and sausages with mash potatoes. Both meals were large, perfectly ok, but nothing special.

Happened upon the Lakeside whilst cycling back into town. A hidden gem -which the locals all know. We really enjoyed sharing the meatball lunch - so nice to have non-standard options. We noted the Lakeside also offers all the usual cafe offerings as well and the steady stream of locals indicates it's very popular. The staff enthusiastic and welcoming.
