It always amazes me that this place is not booked out constantly The food is fresh, home made, generously portioned, good $ value and so flavourful. The owners/staff are friendly and attentive. Sure . lacks a little ambiance as do all "strip shopping" restaurants BUT! The food? The flavour? The price? Totally brilliant.

I went to Red Lantern Malaysian & Asian Restaurant at Melton's Woodgrove Shopping Center yesterday for a family birthday lunch. I was wondering what sort of restaurant you would get at a shopping center - but it turned up to be a real gem of a restaurant. The staff were fantastic and handled our group of 11 with ease.The food was excellent and generous sized portions. I had the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang. It was great with large chunks of beef and potato in the curry served with a mountain of coconut rice and helpings of sambal, ikan bilis (dried anchovies), peanuts and cucumber. The balance of textures and flavours was excellent.Others in our group enjoyed Chinese greens, pepper steak, pad thai, lemon chicken and Hainan Chicken rice. All reportedly excellent dishes and broad variety to suit all tastes.Soft drinks, beer, wines and coffee were all available. We took a birthday cake and the restaurant was very happy to help candles and presentation at the right time. A very enjoyable family lunch. We will be back.

Had dinner here last night with my partner and my brother. The restaurant has a great ambiance, staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered two dishes from the chef speciality, the mango chicken and the secret beef steak. Also ordered the fish with 3 flavours. All the food came at once which was good as we were sharing. When the mango chicken arrived, we were like wow, itâs big but was disappointed by the amount of chicken in there. The chicken were deep fried in a tempura batter and only a few pieces and the plate were topped up with tempura vegetables and lots of it. So a bit more chicken would have been nice. Secret steak was cooked very well and so was the fish dish. Again with the fish, it was a small amount of fish and plate topped up with lots of mixed leaves which didnât get eaten. Overall it was a good experience at this restaurant. Will I go back? Yes.. i would give 5 star if the amount of meat to vegetables were more balanced.

Felt like some form of Asian soup for tea, had only seen this place the night before so gave it a shot.Not too familiar with Vietnamese food but the 2 blokes on the counter were very friendly, the large bowl of soup was more than enough and hot & fresh with lots of flavour.At $11 it seemed like a fair price and Iâd happily suggest others to give it a shot too.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The owners are lovely friendly people. I love going in to enjoy a delicious meal, but also love the personal and friendly service. I visit this restaurant weekly and frequent it regularly with friends. I cannot fault them. You are warmly greeted on arrival and the service is second to none. My favorite meal is the Nyonya Chicken, but I have tasted most of the meals and love them all. When they are not run off their feet, I love the way they walk you to the door to open if for you and to say good-bye. One of my favorite restaurants.

Another birthday celebrated at Melbourne's best Thai restaurant. We've been going to Pad Thai since they opened, and every birthday and anniversary is celebrated there. The food is as good as any i've had anywhere, including Thailand, and Pat is an awesome host. Very funny guy is Pat. For those celebrating a special occasion, Pat always gives his guest/s a gift, which is a great little touch. Thanks Pat !!!

This restaurant is located about a 10 minute drive from our home and one I have been meaning to try for some time. Its just a few doors down from our favourite Thai Restaurant Caroline Thai.We visited on a Friday night and it was quite busy.For entree we started by sharing an Okonomiyaki. This is savory style Japanese Pancake with mayo on top. I loved the savory pancake but my wife was not a great fan.Next we had the Yakiniku Beef which is stir fried thinly sliced eye fillet with special soy sauce with brocoli. This was delicious and the steak very tender.We had this with their Izumi Fried Rice which included prawn, chicken, egg and vegetables.My wife enjoyed a green tea whilst I had a Sapporo Beer.We would love to return and try some of their other specialties such as sashimi, sushi, ramon or shabu shabu (hotpot)

My wife and I were looking for a healthier take away dinner option and they did not disappoint. We had chic temptation burger, potato salad and cheeky rice. I wouldâve never thought I would like 3 out of 3 vegan meals

Had the banquet for 4 people last time and we had to take the proverbial "doggy bag" home.Food is excellent and service always good. We always see a huge number of takeaways being picked up and this shows the quality of the food. Pricing is very reasonable to top it off.This place is a definite winner.

Caroline Spring is a suburb of Melbourne and even though it is relatively only 25mins from Melbourne CBD, this area is more like a residential area so not much of restaurants available.But Caroline Thai is a decent Thai Restaurant, especially in Caroline Spring.I came here solo and order their Caroline Mix BBQ Combo. The food was good so that I decided that I want to order some more but apparently the 2 staff serving were to busy either serving or taking order, payment or something else. Thatâs the lack of it, but the rest is good.
