We went to Sticks for dinner and we were so surprised! The place is beautiful with a very nice beach vibe, surronded by palmtrees and wood. Kind of hard to find a place like this in the south coast! And the food... so yum! Everything was super tasty but the highlight was the rice and the shiitake sticks great music and drinks too! This was the poorest meal I had in the whole of Sri Lanka.. The shrimp gnocchi did not smell fresh, the hummus was no good at all... the vegetable was cold and the pasta is not homemade (as the pictures indicate).And to top it off, they prepared the food topless.. talk about hygiene.Sad to say that I do not recommend this place to anyone!Hello, we are sorry to read these hard words.Just to be clear, we buy only fresh shirmp everyday, the hummus is our style hummus, we usually serve vegetables cold cause people like it, and last, we serve pasta homemade only on request.Anyway, we don t pretend to be perfect, we apologize for our mistakes and we try to do better everyday, learning from mistakes.We woud like to suggest you, next time, if you don t like something, you can tell directly to us. When we arrived here we thought it might be too expensive because it looked so proper and clean. When we opened the menu it however appeared to be very affordable. Besides this, the owners were so friendly and hearthwarming. They advised us honoustly on both what to eat and what to do in Koggala. The food was amazing! We especially liked Parata. In the end we ate three times at this place and spend some time at the beach in front of it because we had such a good time here.

Read the reviews and made it for lunch we had fish curry and arak prawns both very tasty. Outlook is spectacular and like previous posts mention sunset cocktails woulb be pretty good. Staff were incredible, l mentioned it was my wife's birthday and they surprised her with a beautiful desert birthday cake, we will definitely be going back you won't be disappointed hey Brendan,Thank you for dinning with us and sharing your experience with such kind words. This is the second of three restaurants at the Fortress Hotel and by far its most popular because it serves excellent food in style. We dined four times during our stay and enjoyed every dinner, especially the fish buffet where you could sample as much lobster and king prawns as you desired. The Sri Lankan evening food was also a hit, genuine local food, served in attractive array of bowls. With superb personal attention from Dumli, this is worth staying in for.

It looked promising on first impressions, set in a nice little courtyard with nice lighting and ceiling fans, orders were taken quite quickly, but when the food came it was disappointing and small portions and not that tasty given the ratings. We left still hungry and said we won't go there again! Thank you for your review. We feel that our portion sizes and prices are reflecting of the type and quality of food that we provide. Went there on 23rd March. It's a covered area at the back of their house and very much home cooking. The freshly cooked spring rolls were very good and the cuttlefish curry was also really tasty. Everything is cooked to order so I can imagine you need to be patient if it is busy. We really liked the food. We recommend this place as long as you dont mind 3 cats hanging around under your table.

Avoid at all cost, the food was very bad/bland. Probably the worst meal I had in 1 month in Sri Lanka. The restaurant has no ambiance or character. The service was terrible, I was asking for salt and the waiter didnt want to bother and just pointed at his colleague, while he just stood doing nothing. I accidentally dropped my drink which spilled on the table and the ground. They saw it, but left it like that. I was the only customer in the restaurant.

We did not stay at this lovely property but ate in it 3 nights out of 7! Food was wonderful, beside the sea with turtles popping their heads up a few metres away in the waves. Great, friendly staff and freshly prepared food. Also one of the fab swings that goes over the sea is part of the property.
