One of the best lunch/dinner stop in Dambulla. They have a lunch buffet but only a la carte for Dinner. Parking is also available. Plenty of room and comfortable atmosphere. Food was good and the service was excellent. Highly recommend. The restaurant is quite busy with both locals and tourists during the day time.

Stopped en route to Colombo for dinner around 8pm to find a poor choice of food - basically fried rice only. No other choices were available or were they willing to accommodate. A total disappointment. Service at tables were equally lackadaisical. A local tells me the Bake house at the town would have been a better stopover. But too tired to turn back.

Arrived at this restaurant in search of authentic SL cuisine. Asked for veg curry and rice. Quoted 800 SLR per person - ridiculous given 450 benchmark. Settled on 600 - should have just walked away.Food was cold and pretty tasteless.Service was v slow.At the end the old guy in charge tried to add service charge and sales tax!!! What nonsense.Avoid like the plague.

We've been at Sandra Guesthouse for 3 nights and had breakfast and dinner each day in Sandra Restaurant (they belong together but are treated seperately). For dinner you get a Rice and Curry Buffet which tastes fantastic. Especially the eggplant was great for us. If you want to eat traditional food at a very reasonable price you should visit this place.

Absolutely local and delicious. Lovely team, great concept, great products, proper Sri Lankan experience as all the food prepared is fresh and from local recipe. By going their you also contribute and support womanâs empowerment. And how good is it to eat local but changing a bit from curries and trying so many different dishes! The location is also really pleasant surrounded by forest and their plants/veggie garden. Beautiful atmosphere.

This is a very local place â for some time we were the only tourists among many Sri Lankans. The service was very good, but we didn't like the food too much. We ordered âegg curryâ and âfish curryâ, and they turned out to be the same set of vegetarian curries with â in the first case â a single hard-boiled egg and â in the second case â a small bit of fish. One of the three vegetarian curries also had fish, and we didn't like either of the fish dishes. The other curries were very salty, and the coffee was sweet, even though we asked for no sugar. But judging by how crowded the place was, perhaps we were unlucky â hence the rating as âAverageâ rather than âPoorâ.

We had a fantastic buffet style lunch here 23 June and enjoyed friendly service by the entire family with a lovely view over the paddy fields. It is a great place to stop for lunch on the way to Sigirya from negombo. The owner drove down to the bottle store to get us a cold beer, wonderful service. Beautiful set yoghurt with coconut syrup for dessert. The downturn since the attacks have really affected these families.. please visit Sri Lanka and Sakura restaurant. We feel completely safe on our holiday travelling around this beautiful country.

Fabulous roadside restaurant with some of the best food we've had in Sri Lanka, try juggery beef with roti or chicken curry for some amazing flavours. They deserve a lot of success for trying something new and a bit more adventurous than rice and curry although that is on the menu. So cheap too, fed 4 people for less than £12. Worth finding after visiting dambulla caves. Run by a lovely family with some great artwork upstairs. Don't miss it! Thank you very much Jessica. We appreciate your comments.
