Look, it's fast food and chinese. So let's understand that. With that being said, my family eats here when we are in the area. Why? B/c it's pretty cheap and they have a good selection of items. The restaurant is rarely full and there is plenty of parking.Standard, very good, Panda Express fare- full range of items unlike some other Pandas. The only issue is that they are sometimes out of choices (this is a common issue though with Panda). Unless you ask, they will not give you your order until everything is ready.

Disclaimer: when you go to a sushi restaurant and don't order sushi, you should probably not complain about your food. Our friends ordered a selection of sushi that they raved about. My hibachi chicken bento box, not so much. My expectation was a small box with a few carefully made selections; the reality was soup, salad, two egg rolls, two rangoons, eight California rolls, a large pile of rice, and a mess of chicken and vegetables. Way too much food. My husband wasn't enamored of his food either, which came to the table very late, with no explanation or apology. Although wine is listed on the menu, they had none except plum, which is sweet. Service is graceless and slow, although well intentioned. Clearly we're in the minority, as the room was completely full on a weeknight.If you like sushi, give it a try. We won't be going back.

This is not a fancy restaurant, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it! It's basically a neighborhood cafe. BUT, that being said, it's everything you could ever want in Thai food. Surin Simcoe is the owner, her sister and her kids work there, She's from Thailand, she and her sister are the chefs extroidnaire. The meals are fresh, fresh, fresh ~ healthy too. You can find the mild to the wild there depending upon your Thai sophistication. I don't mean that as an insult, just what you would enjoy. My very favorite is called Lop Nua, and besides beef, cilantro, mint, and rice, I don't have a clue to her wonderful seasonings, but it all comes together in an unparralled meal. Her spring rolls are the very best I've ever had, light, crispy, and flavorful. She grows alot of her own vegtables and seasonings which is nice too.So head east from Austin on Hwy 71 towards Bastrop, get off in Garfield and under the water towers it will be tucked away just waiting for you to discover it on your next visit to Austin. Enjoy!

This was our third visit to Hunan Tiger; always as a "to-go" order. The first time was about 18 months ago and the food was really good. We were excited to have found a good Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant near our new home. The second time was about a year ago and the food wasn't as good. We decided to try it a third time. The service was very fast and they are very friendly, but the food was so very disappointing; I would have preferred to wait longer for better food!Each time, we order the same items. Here is our opinion of our latest meal (spellings taken from their menu):Egg Roll - dry, under-filled and tastelessCrab Ragoon - small, very dry, under-filled and the tops were too hard to eatGeneral Tso Chicken - dry chicken, very little flavorFried Rice - not much flavor, but okayChicken Cashews - very dry chicken, sweet, but otherwise not much flavorSteamed rice - it was a little dry, but okayWe don't plan to try it a fourth time.

Located next to a Shell station. No problem but the food was so un-Thai it was difficult to enjoy. My friends ordered the pad Thai. How can you hurt pad Thai? It is possible. I ordered the sesame chicken. Deep fried, no flavor, I had to ask for extra sauce to drown it in. No Thai atmosphere. The waiter was bland as the food.Are you Thai or have you ever lived in Thailand, I was born in Thailand in Banphai fifty years ago, I have worked in many fine Thai restaurant in Thailand before coming to America for almost thirty years. It's ok not like my food, can't please everyone. If you read other peoples reviews most like our Thai food. Who are you say what is Thai? You just like hurt people because of your lam life.

This absolute gem of a restaurant is modest in appearance but big on quality food and excellent customer service.My family ordered as appetizers a Bo Bo plate, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, fried dumplings, and spring rolls. Quite literally everything was amazing.Our dinner consisted of two orders of orange beef, shrimp with snow peas in a custom order, and garlic shrimp vermicelli. The orange beef plates were ordered in wildly differing amounts of spiciness and they were delivered as ordered. Not only was my dish as spicy as ordered but it was also flavorful. The beef's batter was cooked to appropriate crispness without being either mushy or crunchy. The beef itself was tender without needing to be chewed like jerky. My wife had the garlic shrimp vermicelli and it was loaded with good sized shrimp. My dad's dish, the custom ordered shrimp and snow peas, was likewise well appointed with shrimp. He was very impressed as this particular arrangement was his favorite while actually living in China and he declared this was the best example of it he had ever eaten.Emma, our waitress and the owner, was absolutely perfect. She attended to our needs and desires swiftly. She was and is an absolute sweetheart who clearly cares very much about meeting and exceeding the expectations of her customers.I cannot urge you strongly enough to try this place and enjoy the same quality meals and exceptional customer service as we did.
