Catfish dinner included among the best fried catfish in memory, anywhere. Fried shrimp, equally good. Seafood gumbo was very good with almost perfect roux. Stuffed avocado salad for lunch was very good. Boudin brought back gustatory memories of small joints in Louisiana. We liked it a lot. And near-perfect fried okra. Yowza!

This place is open 10:30-2 and has a small lunch line where you can get a one meat and two sides or two meat plate lunch. They have about four meats to choose from and several vegetables. I love the homemade rolls too. Everything we had tasted good. It has a cute atmosphere and nice people that work there. They are Aggie fans. Their deco is all A&M. Very cute little building. You can also order a sandwich with fruit or chips. They have little ready to pick up deserts to put on your tray too.

It had been a great while since the last time I was here. It was good to see they still had alot of the same people working there. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted great. Love the waffles. Servers were attentive and it was clean too.

Stopped by on our way through to Beaumont. Very disappointed. The whole place is in chaos and everyone is going in every direction. Mass confusion. Ordered the hamburger steak special... they forgot my salad. Ordered the whole rib rack... it was a tiny rack and they were so dry! I would be embarrassed to serve this food. Good sweet tea. At least they got something right.
