The Clocktower is my choice when I am looking for a good, inexpensive, well-prepared meal. The ambiance is relaxed, the service is quick and cheerful, and the special menu options change frequently. They have a great bakery counter to eat in or take out -- pies and cakes and muffins and Danish and on and on. I particularly like their oatmeal raisin cookies, and always take some away. And the owners are usually on site and willing to help with menu choices or respond to any perceived problems. Not sure why or how some folks recently are unhappy -- or is there a campaign against this very nice place?

My husband and I had dinner here earlier this week. The service was good and our server was attentive. I had an issue with my meal and the manager couldn't hAve been nicer! It's in an historic train station and bar is gorgeous! A lovely place in downtown Staunton! Highly recommend!

The Bistro was the perfect ending for a great day with friends. The drink list covered everyone, and our dishes were delicious. I had the shrimp and grits which were gluten free and outstanding. The portions were large but no one left much on their plate.

This is a very nice place. I was looking for a ma and pa place and I went down the road far enough to find it!! Just what I was looking for!!! A drive in from the 50s was even better than what I was looking for!! They had the old booths, and order trays and drive in area and it had it all!! What a great place!! The food was ok, and the selection was wonderful. The people were friendly too!! Please do not miss this when you are in the area!!!

This is one of my "go-to" places for lunch when I have out-of-town visitors to the area and they have never disappointed. Besides the tasty food, the staff is super friendly. I'll keep coming back!

Ribs are first class and sauces are respectable. However......the week nite we were there at 5:00 pm, the waitress looked like she'd rather pull her liver out thru her nose with a crochet hook than be there. The kitchen was out of at least 5 menu items, including celery to go with blue cheese on the Buffalo wing appetizer and BBQ brisket. My order of wings came with a side missing, the wrong sauce, and missing blue cheese. No celery, of course. The building is old and not well cared for, but appears to be as clean as possible. If you've got a hankering for ribs, don't care about service and atmosphere, this could be your place.

Mill Street Grill is a medium-priced, full-service restaurant located in the Shenandoah Valley. Already an established name, Mill Street Grill is also a name synonymous with quality. At Mill Street Grill everything is made fresh daily and based on our own
This restaurant is in the pedestrian-friendly downtown Staunton area. The building has original elements and interesting stained glass. Delicious homemade bread and butter started our meal. We had a dinner item from the daily specials and one from the regular menu, and both were delicious. The beer and wine menu is extensive, and we were offered samples if we needed to make a decision (we didnât but it was an option not often offered). Our server was attentive and informative about the dishes, and the manager stopped by the table to ensure everything was going well. By the time we left at about 7 pm, there was a long wait to get seated, so arriving early is recommended on a Friday.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. The food was very good. I had a country ham sandwich and coconut cream pie for desert and my wife had a chicken salad salad and pistachio cake for desert. It's a great place to eat.

Nothing pairs better with exquisite wine than delicious food to complement it. Executive Chef Dexter Burgess has created an amazing menu using only the freshest ingredients to be combined with our award-winning wines for the ultimate palate experience. Lo
We stopped here to eat in their restaurant but it (the bistro) was closed due to a wedding. Since they advertise the restaurant, we didn't think we needed to call ahead to see if it would be open.Instead we sat outside and enjoyed the view with some wine and a fruit/cheese platter. Then we were told to move because half of the patio was closed for the wedding as well. It would have been nice if signs were up that said "reserved."We found their wines to be quite good -- and the fruit/cheese platter was very nice -- but many of the staff were very snooty. A few smiled and seemed friendly. The wind blew out part of an umbrella at a table nearby & some of it fell on a couple. A worker cleaning up a nearby table didn't say a thing. We will return to give it a second chance. We can only hope we'll have friendlier service next time. If not, we'll go elsewhere in the future. Jim, thank you so much for visiting with us! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our wine and hope that you'll come back soon so that we can ensure a more pleasant experience for you! We take our customer service very seriously and pride ourselves on treating our guests like family and therefore sincerely appreciate this feedback!
