One of the few places that is not a diner where you can enjoy a burger or light meal and have table service. Service is friendly and the food, especially the soups, good.

Had the lobster Cobb salad. But into significant pieces of lobster shell and bone at least 4 times. Sent half of it back. Owners response was âwhat do you expect itâs lobster.â Didnât apologize or ask if I wanted anything else. Handled it poorly. Rest of food was OK - nothing great.

The place has some great atmosphere, nice views overlooking the golf course and the water. Chef Janine is well respected in the community. BUT.... The service is quite poor and the food is very inconsistent. Donât even bother with the snack shack outside the restaurant the older woman there has no personality and and a very thick accent. You are destined to get a stale moldy roll with your egg sandwich or your hamburgerWe are sorry in your opinion you feel our service is slow and our food is inconsistent, we have just celebrated six years and I am really proud of our food we serve and our staff. We book many parties as well as having many return customers, and really feel we have been doing a great job. as for the snack shack I really feel a accent should not make a difference. We live in a country were there are many different accents, The snack bar is a convenience for the golfers, if theres a problem I would have hoped someone would have reached out to me. This restaurant is in a lovely spot for water views and outside dining. The food was very good. We enjoyed the octopus and calamari appetizers to start. I had the roast chicken and my husband had the Bronzino. Both entrees were delicious. My mother's lobster roll was dry but ample meat. Service was spotty but most likely due to the beautiful weather bringing unexpected crowds. We will return in the summer for sure.Thank you so much! We're so glad you enjoyed everything while you were here. We regret to hear about your mother's Lobster Roll, we would have happily fixed this for you! We can't wait to see you again soon!

We were two couples, each individual with very different tastes The menu was extensive, creative and tantalizing, the wait service and wine list excellent. Our waiter Andy was great . The home-made ice cream was unusually good, with generous proportions.

The boat house is a nice waterfront setting in Glen Cove. Easy to get to and easy parking. Nice simple deck overlooking the boat basin. Lunch time food was good but not great.

The Metropolitan Bistro is not a fancy place but the food quality equals many other more upscale restaurants. I enjoyed a great salad, sliced steak their own wonderful french fries. We met the owner and he was warm and friendly with a great personality. Check this place out for a nice casual dinner. I think you'll be happy you did.

So far (2 lunches) everything we ordered was terrific, esp. the French Dip sandwich, the Cavatelli & the green apple salad. Excellent service, casual atmosphere. A comfortable place, with fresh, well-prepared food.

Came here for my birthday with my family. Made a reservation on open table and service was all good. We got seated right away and the server immediately started to pour water and ask if we like any other drinks. Appetizer came 10 minutes after we ordered. We got the calamari and the filet mignon sliders which was excellent and beautifully prepared. Dinner came out at fair timing and I got the lamb chop with veggies. Best item on the menu (I think it was on the specials menu)! Even though I was stuffed, I got dessert which was hands down the best part of my experience here. It was so fresh and delicious tasting. Overall will be going to the Heirloom tavern again soon!
