Followed the reviews of Fronk's on Yelp! and found a delightful, open late-nite, sociable place to grab a bite to eat after the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas concert at the Cerritos Center on Friday 12/28/18. As first-timers here, we had a very good experience. We arrived around 10:40pm. to the sound of a terrible Karoake performer, and chose to eat outside on the patio, even though it was about 63F. We were seated next to a propane tower heater which made the choice just fine. Service was prompt. We were greeted by Maria, a very personable young lady, who immediately offered water or our choice of beverage. Having heard about the colossal onion rings, we opted for a full order while we looked through the diverse menu. Plenty of things here for most folks . . . burgers and other beef & pork items, salads, seafood. Onion rings arrived in about 10 minutes.I settled on the Philly Pig burger with a side of the smoked sausage chili, while my wife ordered the chicken strips appetizer and a house salad. We had managed our way through most of the onion rings when our meal arrived. There were seven chicken tenders perfectly done -- moist and not 0overcooked -- with a sampling of four dipping sauces, and the salad was full of fresh greens, grape tomatoes, corn kernels, roasted peppers, cheese, and topped with some tortilla strips. The burger was beautiful to look at. Very light, almost crispy bun. The burger patty was grilled precisely to medium as ordered. The pulled pork was a very generous serving, probably 2-3 ounces . . . the only problem was that it had been poorly placed before leaving the kitchen, and about half of it wasn't even under the bun, so most of it fell onto my plate when I picked up the burger for the first bite, which meant that I really didn't get any of the pulled pork with the burger on that first try. I might have understood that as an accident if the place had been more busy, but I think it was just random poor workmanship. I would try it again, believing it would be a bit more satisfying if properly assembled. However, there are a number of other burgers that I would also like to try here, so it might be a while before I handle another Philly Pig. Overall, we had a very good experience, and will surely return, perhaps with some friends. They have a Sunday AYCE Brunch from 10-2 at about $22 per person which sounds inviting, and we may give it a try one week after church. I've rated Fronk's 5 stars, but would have knocked a half-star off for the poor presentation of my burger. It's definitely worthy of all the top reviews.

Okay - I was very disappointed the last time we were there, last Thursday around 5:30. I had been wanting Maine lobster for a while. The waitress said, "oh, they ate all the lobster." At 5:30? The Red Lobster was OUT OF LOBSTER!!!! That did not set well with me. But, the waitress was the best! She pointed out a meal I did enjoy and hubby enjoyed his! But, I sure hope the next time we walk in that Maine Lobster is still in the water!

Dale's Diner

We visited Dale's Diner on one morning and whilst it was enjoyable, it just didn't hit the mark for us.Across the group we didn't think the pancakes were anything special and the apple pancakes were very dry. I had French toast, which was enjoyable. The shakes here were very impressive though, ultra thick and flavoursome, with my cherry one having pieces of fruit in it. They also gave you what was left, so it was like drinking two and a meal in itself.Whilst we wouldn't make the effort to go back, it is good if you are in the area.

Soup plantation in Lakewood sells real great fresh food, stopted in for a healthy lunch after a hard mornings work. Nothing bad to say about the food, But the table service was just about nonexistent, and the floor was realy dirty. The ice cream machine had a problem as it was dropping to much ice cream, which ended up in a large pile under the machine, Manager did not seem to mind.TIP: If you are looking for health do not take salad dressing they are sinfully good.

Fuddruckers

Our family visited Fuddruckers for a "going back to school" lunch. Most of the group had some sort of burger and some of us had yummy chicken salads. The biggest hit was the double cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and a drink. One of our group ordered a side of onion rings. The onion rings were the greatest I have had in a very long time. The salad lovers of our group were very impressed with the salad. The chicken was very tender and very tasty and very well seasoned. The portions are fantastic and most of us came away with a box full of goodies to eat later! We also had a few rounds of cookies and a couple of shakes. They were really good.!! We also felt that the price for the food was very fair and very reasonable. Even though the restaurant was very crowded, the noise didn't seem to bother any of us in our group. The waiters and waitresses that were cleaning tables were very attentive and we appreciated their assistance with finding silverware, condiments and, of course, showing us how to use the fancy soda machine!! We will return!!!

Right from when you walk in you are made to feel welcome. Quaint little local restaurant/pub with a limited but excellent menu. A good selection of IPAs and they are 'working' on broadening the selection towards some stouts. The meat loaf once again was a winner. Amazingly tender with a yummy, rich gravy. The mashed were not over-worked and the green beans had a very rich charred flavour. The flat iron steak was delicious. Cooked to order, nice char, rich flavours. The steak fries nice and crispy, pipping hot on the inside. The aspargus was bursting with a charred flavour but they had to be the thinnest stalks I've seen in my life. The blue cheese dressing for the starter salad was a bit watery and it took a few times to get enough black pepper to my liking. Two turns on the mill and my server was leaving. We got it sorted out finally :-)

This place was spotless. Even the train chugging around a track above your head is spotless; not like many things at other restaurants hanging from the ceiling that are coated in greasy dust! Impressive cleaning skills here. AND, the food was good, too. Very attentive service from all the employees assuring our coffee was filled and meals prepared to our liking. The manager/owner even stopped to check at each table; something these days you don't even see in many upscale restaurants. I would highly recommend this place for the food, atmosphere and location near Long Beach airport.
