Let’s get it straight. THE FOOD SUCKS. I went to Ottawa with my school a couple months ago, and the food was so bad I still remember how it tasted. Where to start, the sweet and sour fish was crispy on the outside, super soggy on the in middle. The worst was the steamed mussels. Nothing good about them at all. Bland, over cooked poor quality mussels that looked old. The only ok thing was the stir fry, seasoned ok. Also the salad was stale. I do not recommend. However aside from the food service was average and the basement was average. The customer is right, but the critic knows betterThank you for your review. I am disappointed to hear about your experience with us. I would like an opportunity to speak to you directly about the details of your visit. Please ask for Serge when calling the restaurant. I hope to hear from you.

Bold flavors elevate beloved bistro classics in chic and inviting Bazille. Meet up with friends at the bar for internationally sourced wines and handcrafted cocktails. Stay for appetizers, salads, brick-oven pizzas and our tempting housemade desserts.

Nordstrom is a North American department store which sounds as if it might more properly be a Scandinavian river. Bazille is the French sounding name of the stylish restaurant in its Ottawa branch but the cuisine is distinctly North American. We’ve had healthy nicoise and chicken salads here, although the likes of Flatiron steak, shrimp linguine, burgers, poutines and pizzas are equally available. I also sat at the bar one evening and enjoyed a bread based fruitcake but was disappointed there was an absence of espresso coffee with only filter available served in a bill can.

As a regular and often suggesting this place to friends, collegues and anuone who wants good food in great portions, I have to say that I will no longer be supporting this business. When it opened, it was awesome. Taste, service, portion sizes...etc. it was all there. Now I look at my plate and realize I'll have to eat something when I get home. The taste has left the building. Not quite sure what happened but I'm done...I Nicholas, First thanks for your review we take it very seriously. Let me just say that as the years went by the only thing that have changed really is the price, but all the recipes are the same and I'm still the one who does the prep. One thing I realize is that lately we've added some new staff and maybe we should of spend more time on training so the plates could've been consistent. Thing I need to add is that as the years went by, prices increased and we needed to adjust our pricing and portions. A lot of clients were wasting some food because of our oversized poutines and portions and were ending paying for wasted food. We've adjusted the portions and pricing witch pleased some of our clients and disappointed some others. Note that it's still possible to order our bigger version of our poutine etc. but it's just not on our takeout menu anymore. As for the taste, well, I would need more details because as I said all the recipes are the same and I've been doing all the sauces etc since we've open. I know my manager and I had to leave the shop for 2 weeks for festivals, but I can guarantee we've learned from that mistake. Thanks again for the review and hope to see you soon LE BBQ Shop

So as someone who travels almost every week of my life, I have the pleasure of dining out at some of the best restaurants in the country be at casual, fine dining or other. This evening, I had the pleasure of walking to Joeys restaurant from my hotel at the Westin in Ottawa and wanted to comment on my experience. My first challenge was when the bartender brought over my 6 ounce glass of red wine that I ordered. It seemed a little on the shall we say “light” side of 6oz and when I asked the bartender if he thought the same, he immediately challenged me asking if I already had a sip… Which I did not but found it quite insulting. To his credit, my second glass was definitely just over 6 ounces and so in the end that was settled. On another note, the three bartenders just did not have the zip and zeal you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It’s a high energy, fun ambiance that without question has great food. Not once did any of them come up and ask me how I’m doing, how my meal was or where I’m from and really in watching them interact they spend a lot more time having fun with each other they did with the patrons at the bar. I say this only because I think it’s important for a restaurant like this to ensure that the bartenders are fully aware that interacting with their patrons at the bar is paramount to ensuring their guests are enjoying their dining experience and certainly this was not the case at this Joeys. On a positive note, on my way out Carissa (one of the managers) did sincerely ask how my meal and experience was and I was about to walk out took a pause and shared with her my challenge only because I do like this chain and think they should kick it up a notch around the bar seating area. It was really nice to see how sincere Carissa was in making absolutely certain that she would take action to ensure this situation/attitude is corrected as she absolutely values her guests experiences and I absolutely believe she is going to do that. In the end, the chicken was amazing, the ribs a little bit on the tough side, the bar scene somewhat sluggish but management top-notch!Hello Paul, thanks for the positive feedback! We're always happy to hear good things from our customers. Hope to see you again soon! - James (JOEY Rideau Assistant General Manager)

Shared the surf-and-turf. The deep-fried tempura-style lobster was almost impossible to eat. The steak was tiny. and the flavour wasn't great. Service was very good- and a decent wine list. Don't think I'd ever go back.

Dined here while on an across Canada trip on 16th September. Chose this place at random. We were seated quickly outside on a very warm evening and were able to watch the comings and going. Kate, our server, was bright and engaging. Warm fresh bread to start. Our mains were Crab cakes – small and a bit cold; Steak – very tender. Ordered vegetables that we didn’t get. The Keg Innis Reisling was lovely. Our bill was $69.50. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Mac Daddy burger with Chuck • Panko mac & cheese • Double smoked bacon • Cheddar whiz sounded over the top, but was actually quite good. Also loved the swiss mushroom burger, and double bite burger. Burgers were served raw in the middle (red, not just pink), but was quickly corrected. Truffle fries and poutine were also delicioius. Great service as well.

Adorable local spot with many burger options (including chicken, fish and vegetarian). Service was lovely and we did not wait too long. Food was good and prices reasonable but nothing more. Portions are generous. Seating is a bit awkward as the place is very small and cannot accomodate large groups.Very casual.
