Farm Haus Bistro at Fredericksburg Herb Farm

Eating in a garden environment, with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, is unique these days. This fine restaurant is housed in a historic rock house, built in the late 1890s. Our menus are ever-changing based on seasonal inspiration - call to inquire ab

We visited the Farm Haus Bistro on a recent trip to Fredericksburg, and went back again for brunch. What a beautiful, serene location - walking paths through a garden decorated with unique items, a small gift/garden shop, and the restaurant and bar is simply gorgeous. There are quaint cottages and a spa on premises for guests, but we were just dining. First, we were seated in a room with 3 walls of windows to enjoy the outdoor scenery. Next warm bread was brought to the table with an herb butter. (Fresh ingredients are grown there and used in the menu items) We learned the delicious bread was gluten-free - to our amazement (this bread was not dense and heavy, but light and raised) Served warm with the herb butter was such a treat! We ordered appetizers of sauteed brussel sprouts in a roasted poblano aioli - it was not spicy, but so tasty. We also enjoyed the filet mignon, eggplant lasagna, salad, french onion soup. Everything was spectacular. Very good wines as well. We had no room for dessert, but had hoped to try some of the wonderful choices we saw coming out to others dining! Our second visit for brunch was just as lovely, though we did have a wait. The bar area was a comfortable place to sit and visit during our wait, and have a mimosa or bloody mary. Brunch was amazing, and this time we were able to walk around the gardens and the gift shop. The menu offers choices for vegetarian and gluten free. Such a lovely place. Can't wait to go back on our next trip!

Okay burger - overdone and not very juicy - fries tasteless and soggy. Very nice server and a large outdoor patio. An okay place to stop when hungry in a super busy area where reservations are required or a long wait at most other restaurants is inevitable. Were seated and served quickly so all and all, glad they were open and serving food.Thank you for taking the time to review us.We look forward to giving you a 5 star experience next time!

Some of the best pizza we have had. Ordered the Spicy Italian and it did not disappoint. Also had a spinach salad with apples & pecans...delicious! We had a fantastic waiter that helped with suggestions. He was awesome. We were visiting for a few days...wish this place was closer to home. Bonus - 1/2 price large pizzas in Monday & Tuesday’s.

Locals and bikers know about and venture there to this out-of-the-way restaurant. Food sizings are ample. An order of onion rings or fries are too much for one person. My burger was cooked to medium rare, just as I wanted. A fellow traveler ordered his well done and it came that way. Place is busy. Service was very good, food came in reasonable time frame despite restaurant being almost full. There is outdoor and indoor dining available. Not a fancy restaurant, mostly nostalgic decor. Food was very good. There's a 6 patty cheeseburger w/ large fries challenge available. If you can eat in an hour, it's free - otherwise $38.00. I wouldn't even come close. Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The restaurant is busy and bustling, and obviously quite popular. Decor is nondescript. The lunch specials are inexpensive and include ice tea. We had Jagerchnitzel and German chicken salad. The food is good but not great, although the price is right. Overall, the lunch experience is unremarkable.

We came for dinner on our anniversary and were hoping for an upscale experience. The ambiance is nice, I wasn’t thrilled to have to walk down narrow stairs in stilettos but I’m still alive. I guess I was expecting a bit more from the food. The black truffle pizza was good but was really nothing special. It was a nice place but I don’t think we would go again.Hello Corteney, thank you for your review. We ordered a pizza and salad. When I asked her for a clean napkin (it had pizza sauce on it). She rolled her eyes at me, never brought it so I went to an empty table and grabbed my own. We didn’t want to ask for any thing else because we didn’t want her doing anything to our salad or pizza I would never go back there again. Hi Ann. I have spoken to your server. Sandra, who has worked for the company for 4 years, did not hear you ask. Otherwise, she would have absolutely given you a napkin. I only ask you to give her the benefit of the doubt. While you suggested 'something' would have been done to your food if you asked for anything is offensive. Your suggestion that a career service industry worker would tamper with food when she is performing her job is awful. A request for a napkin that she did not hear, which again, I'm asking you to acknowledge her point of view, does not rise to the accusation that your food would be tampered with. She is working today, if you would like to come in and speak to us face to face, please do. I would love to settle this matter and for you to talk with her to see what kind of person she is.
