This establishment offers several buffet options as well as a full menu. There is a great variety of foods. The breakfast buffet is a great value for the cost. They were setting up the dinner buffet as I was leaving and it had 6 main entrees with all the fixings. While I ordered from the menu, the quality of the food was as expected for a truck stop. My fries were not cooked as well as I like, the chef cooked them longer without incident. I would eat here again, if the weather is bad and I need a place to sit it out for a while.

CB's Bar and Grill

We were a party of four (two couples) out for Friday night fish fry. Food was excellent, and service (in the dining room and in the bar/lounge) was prompt and properly executed. The restrooms are clean (yes! that's important!). The bar-lounge area is well-furnished and very comfortable. The dining room is comfortable but needs some plants and decorating accessories to give it some social "warmth", so to speak. This was not our first time at CB's, and it will not be our last. For those who are local to the area but are unfamiliar with the current hame of this business, this location has been known locally over the past fifty or sixty years as the Old Madrid, or variations thereof, under various phases of ownership. It was completely renovated a few years ago.

In town for the annual hot air balloon festival and stopped for an early breakfast and glad we did! We both ordered the veggie omelett with lots of mushrooms, peppers, black olives, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Well seasoned and cooked just right. Rather than the home fries, we opted for a fresh fruit cup which included cantaloupe, honeydue melon, pineapple, grapes and orange segments. My husband ordered rye toast and I an english muffin. Toasted perfectly with light butter added. Coffee refills were plentiful. Waitress very friendly and efficient. Inviting atmosphere although, the restrooms could use some tender loving care, very used. Overall, would stop in again when in the area.

Scovill's Grill

Scoville's Grill is located near where we live but we had never been before. The reviews looked good and so we decided to stop in and give it a try. Upon arrival there was an outdoor event occurring for a fundraiser it appeared. Those attending that event blocked the doorways and made it difficult to enter even when you politely said excuse me and tried to squeeze by them. Perhaps in the future it would be better to hold the event further from the front door so paying customers can easily access the establishment. Once inside we made our way to the hostess who had her cell phone out. She seated us and we were promptly greeted by the waitress Jackie who was smiling and pleasant. She took our drink orders which was soda. Mine was flat upon arrival. Another waitress slammed a carafe of water down as she walked by. We poured it ourselves. Another girl dropped off a basket to the table. It was a decent sized basket one that would normally hold a sandwich and chips. In it were two half slices of bread.( Like a slice of italian bread cut in half.) I was so amazed at the small portions that I initially thought we were being served communion. The bread was flavorless. To be fair a short while later the girl asked if we wanted more bread but after that first bizarre serving we declined. The salad was nothing to write home about. We both ordered the prime rib. The prime rib was mediocre at best. Not a great flavor, very bland. We did order a side of grilled chicken wing and they were actually very good-the highlight of the evening. Our sodas sat empty until we were nearly ready to leave and then the waitress did ask if we wanted refills after our meal was finished. The table behind us was offered dessert, we never were. The other table in front of us was given a full basket of bread for 2 people. The hostess was asked to wipe down a table and made a face because she had to put her phone down. We will not being going back, After the great review we had read, this visit was truly a disappointment.

We live in Rochester and this was our first time here. We were driving through and the locals recommended it. The ambiance was quaint, kind of cute, very small. The hostess was pleasant but looked absolutely bored out of her mind and spent most of the time hiding in the corner looking forlorn. The server was also pleasant, but forgot my husband's iced tea...we had to ask her. No big deal. Unfortunately the food was just very...meh. The bread came and we dug in, only to find the bread a bit dry and lacking flavor. We dipped it in my salad dressing to make it better. The salad was actually pretty good...typical small iceberg salad. Enjoyed it. My husband ordered the jalapeño mango habanero burger with fries. They warn on the menu that it's super spicy--it was not. It was very drippy and the taste was just okay. I ordered the chicken scaloppine, which is supposed to be chicken breast sautéed with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and finished in a white wine with melted mozzarella. I asked for no cheese on and it came with no mozzarella but they did put parmesan on it. The pasta was cooked fine, but the meal was watery, lacked flavor, and was just limp looking. I had to keep putting salt on it and it still was flavorless and watery. I ate half and left the rest. We skipped dessert and headed home. The locals seemed excited to recommend the place to us so I hate to say anything negative, but honestly it was really just not good. I would not go back.

Java Jungle

A small, unassuming restaurant front hides an extraordinary food source! Very small place, especially the rest rooms, however the food is huge on taste! A breakfast fit for kings, bring your appetite! I indulged in a Western Omelet, with cheddar cheese. Nice size plentiful chunks of peppers, onions, and ham, abounded in the melted cheddar cheese; and was wrapped neatly in a three egg wrap. I would like to go back and try lunch or perhaps a dinner sometime, however until then their breakfast rocks!
