Clinton, along with DeWitt, Iowa (also located in Clinton County), was named in honor of the sixth governor of New York, DeWitt Clinton. Clinton is the principal city of the Clinton Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is coterminous with Clinton County. Clinton was incorporated on January 26, 1857.

Had not been there in years and the place was still the same....old décor. Six O'clock on a Thursday night and we were the only ones there. As we are leaving four more people came in. Waitress was pleasant but food disappointing and portions too large.

There are many national chain restaurants very similar to this. I don't think Applebee's distinguishes itself from it's many similar competitors. They change their menu often but although I have found some decent offerings from time to time I usually get their steak (not bad) or their burger, I like it, but not their unhealthy fries. Once the waitress said no substitutions, but a couple times they have let me sub a small salad or cole slaw. I always find it unfortunate that this and restaurants of it's ilk put our mom and pop operations out of business all over the country. I usually prefer to go to local places but it is hard to battle your kids who think they like Applebee's better mostly because of their national advertising.

This place has lunch and dinner, but I recommend just coming for breakfast. The service is usually good, but except breakfast items, there is nothing much worth ordering. The pies are worth coming for all day, but the meals are pretty average. The breakfast staples, like omelettes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy are not too bad but I think most small-town diners could be better than this large chain. This does not match, but what I would order here is biscuits and gravy and cherry pie.

All you can eat buffet. More than pizza. Make a speciality order for pizza and they bring it to your table. We ordered a half blueberry and half cherry dessert pizza. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn. Salad bar with your standard things except there was a spinach salad with feta and cranberry salad. Soft serve ice cream filled my drink glass full. Absolutely packed on a Saturday night. All kinds of unique western signs and paraphernalia

Pork Tenderloin sandwich is ridiculously good.Pork Tenderloin Blarney Castle dinner was even crazier...hand breaded, hand pounded in a savory batter that is deep fried to golden perfection...stacked with mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. Good luck finishing these huge, healthy, and excellent tasting sandwiches. This place won a Top 5 finalist in a judged pork tenderloin contest. It only took this Floridian about 3 minutes to see why. We are going back to Iowa just to go to Stouts! They have reasonably priced craft local beers as well as the usual big brands and a well rounded selection of liquor. This was an excellent visit. If you're from out of town, the Baymont 2 doors away is a nice surprise as a place to stay too.

First time in and the manager suggested we do the lunch menu instead of the Sunday buffet. There were quite a few choices on the menu and the portions were good sized, at reasonable prices. Would like to go back and try something different! The salad bar looked pretty good, but we opted not to do that.

Delicious place for lunch. I had the egg salad sandwich with pasta salad and my husband had a ham sandwich with potato salad. Both were amazing! Very clean atmosphere. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We were favorably impressed with this restaurant when our large family group came for dinner. Very popular in town, it was quite crowded but since we had a reservation, we were shown to our table and seated promptly. The staff did a great job getting orders from our group as we were all visiting and slow to make decisions. The meals were delivered within a very reasonable time and the food was good. Despite the crowd, we were able to visit (although it was a bit noisy, but that's to be expected on a summer Friday evening) and everyone enjoyed it.
