This bar is currently empty besides two drunk men attempting to sing karaoke style. Itâs been blasting the daggiest and worst 90s and Vietnamese techno for the last couple of hours at decibels that would never be allowed in a different country. This horrific noise is polluting the entire island.I feel sorry for the hotels nearby. We defiantly wonât be staying another night here because of it. Everyone is suffering for the enjoyment of these couple of drunk idiots.The worst and most embarrassing part of all is that they donât even have customers! I hope it sinks or floats out to sea never to be seen again.

This bar is on the 17th floor of a luxury hotel. It is often quiet and always plenty of seating.Drinks are pricier than the other bars, but still inexpensive compared to the UK.The pool and roof top setting are lovely. We got some excellent photos.Staff are nice but could improve their service a little.Worth a visit.

I came to eat at Lepub (Ciao Cat Ba & Restaurant) when I got off my 3 hour bus ride from Hanoi so I was really hungry.I was welcomed by the dainty, young lady, Hue. My meal was really tasty and flavorful. There was a lovely ambiance in the restaurant.

Itâs a nice place, rooftop. But they barely speak English and couldnât get lots our orders right. Someone ordered chicken fried rice, they brought chicken with fries. Vege curry was more like vege soup. I had a spicy Sichuan tofu, again SPICY! It came with mushroom and bell pepper, I donât think they know how to cook this dish at all, itâs more sweet than what itâs supposed to be. Frankly, save your energy and find somewhere else instead of walking up all the way uphill and climb 5 flies of stairs to the rooftop.

My boyfriend and I were on an excursion which included an overnight stay on Cat Ba Island. With nothing to do for an afternoon, we wandered down the main street. The birdcages outside this cafe caught my eye - there must have been 30-40 birds in total. Needing a refreshing fruit juice, we took a seat.The owner, Hieu, smiled at us and took our order. It took a little while - I'm not sure but I think he may have gone to get some fresh ingredients from the market. Once they arrived, it was like heaven on earth. The fruit drinks are large, full of flavour, and obviously from the best fruit available. They are also very reasonably priced.The owner promptly provided us with the password for free wifi, and proceeded to sit down and whistle melodies to his birds. After chatting to him a little bit, we found out that he has a great love for birds native to Vietnam. We had to head back to the hotel, but after his reassurance that he'd be open tip 10 or 11pm, we promised to come back. So glad that we did.He wasn't there when we returned, and there was a little confusion with our drink orders. Not knowing what to do (the other staff didn't seem to speak English and we didn't want to cause any embarrassment), the lovely owner returned. We explained to him that our orders were mixed up, and almost wished we hadn't as he was so mortified. When he brought us the right drinks, we struck up conversation, which ended up lasting an hour or two. What a lovely guy! His wife runs a hair salon at the back of the ground floor of the bar, too - so guys can have a drink whilst their girlfriend get hair/nails done. Great idea!All in all, our visit(s) brought us great happiness, and we only wish we'd got Hieu's contact details!! Dear BellaThanks for your interesting assessment. the food was cold whem it arrived, followed by the salad we gad earlier gacve both me and my little son belly problems. then suddenly out of nowhere the whole oo cat ba police turn up at the restaurant and arreest the owner. stay away \_(ã)_/

Just had amazing meakls here at this restaurant in the heart of Cat Ba town. Great range of dishes from western, Vietnamese and Italian. We heard about the endangered langurs and the food came out Check out the infamous spring rolls. They were delicious. We tried the honey chicken, satay pork, braised pork and black pepper steak.
