Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Staff were great and service was fast however we were surrounded by nice with screaming babies which did not add to the ambience. The breakfast selection is limited . I had the beef brisket with scrambled eggs plus bacon on the side . The toast was soggy so inedible and the eggs were bland. Would I order it again or come back for breakfast? Maybe if everything else was closed.

We've been patronising Golden Child ever since it opened and have enjoyed it immensely until today.Arrived at 10.30 approx.....Very quiet. Sat outside, no other patrons there. Waited, waited, no sign of service. I went inside and took a bottle of water and two glasses and although staff saw me, no one batted an eyelid. After about 10 minutes a young lady appeared and enquired whether we wanted coffee. No, we replied, we wanted breakfast. We eventually got our breakfast, but what a disappointment ! The poached eggs were like hard boiled ! However, there was a goodly amount of smoked salmon, but Golden Child once was famous for its poached eggs; one of the reasons we keep going back. May be there has been a change of chef , who knows. Fortunately, the first young lady with the unpleasant manner didn't come near us again being replaced by a charming young lady. We'll probably go back again to see if this was a once off , but I do hope it goes back to its once high standard.

A welcoming place. There are tables outside and a range of seating inside. Plenty of newspapers available. There is a good range of dishes available throughout the day, you're sure to find something you like. The coffee is excellent and my wife loves the Chai tea, leaves not powder of course. Staff are friendly and efficient, it can get busy but you'll always get looked after.

Went for lunch on a Sunday, and the venue wasn't too busy. I took advantage of the lunch special, $35 for two courses with a drink (red/white wine, beer on tap, soft drink or coffee), and had the fijian fish salad (similar to a ceviche with coconut sauce), 150g porterhouse, and a latte to finish. Service was great, food delivered efficiently, and good food (the only downside was that I ordered a medium rare steak and got medium, but was forgivable as it was delicious). We decided to try this coffee shop near our daughters school as it does always look busy. Maybe we hit a bad day but they got our order all wrong - how do you muck up two coffees? We didn't know who's was who's and as they didn't write it on the cups they didn't know either. We like our coffee extra hot and they were luke warm. So annoyed as we waited a while and we ended up throwing them in a bit. Iâve visited twice so iâm basing it on both visits. I found the food very bland. My chorizo omelette was over cooked and lacking flavour and had bits of burnt kale stacked on top. Not great. I was surprised as itâs rated quite well. Perhaps just an off day or pressure in the kitchen as they were quite busy.

Celebrated a friendâs birthday last week, and had dinner here. The food was reasonably priced and the staff were helpful and friendly. I had the seafood paella, and so did the birthday girl.Am planning to come back soon.

Went to Sketches based on a recommendation from the hotel and was had a very pleasant meal.The service was warm and welcoming. The Crispy Skin Salmon perfectly cooked and accompanied by some lovely broth, Sina noodles and radishes. My colleague had the lamb shank special and kept raving on about it.Great desserts as well - look forward to coming back on my next trip.
