I went to sombra a couple of weeks ago with my husband and my two young children. We sat in a booth next to the window and we could hear the servers cursing at the service station right across from us. The server got our order wrong and so the manager, Lorena had to step in. I could smell alcohol on her breath while she was speaking. Sombra is not a good place for families and has terrible service! The food was okay though.... when we finally got it! (It took us almost an hour to get our food)Hi Susan, I'm very sorry to learn about your recent visit to Sombra. By far the most consistent, best food, best service of any Mexican restaurant in the Jxn metro area. I eat here almost every week sometimes twice a week. Popular lunch location. Cheap. In and out quickly and it's always...ALWAYS GREAT. Evenings and drinks are just as good.

You might miss this place (it's tucked into a strip mall practically hidden by the Sleep Inn) but it's worth the hunt. The food was excellent and the menu had some dishes not regularly seen at your typical mexican place. The addition of fast and friendly service makes this place a winner.

Bar area still smells bad like the bar area has not been cleaned in years. It's a sweet / Sour like smell that indicates spills and improper cleaning. Food prices are increasing without quality increasing. Service is not what it used to be and Drink refills don't happen often. I probably won't be visiting again for a while.

Great Mexican restaurant!!! I always order the same thing, which is a P5 (chicken, rice & cheese)...you can never go wrong with that!!! Very convenient and close to where I live!!! Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

I was skeptical to try Mexican food in Mississippi but it was surprisingly good. The Mexican food I typically eat is not from the same region as the food at sombras but it was good nonetheless . I had the black bean and goat cheese tamale which was wrapped in a banana leaf. The guacamole was good as well. Hello, Thank you for the review! Presents as a Cuban restaurant with linkage to I luv Lucy, and shows videos on the wall that provides that context. Definitely a popular place. We experienced slow drink delivery and I found that the churasseo was also disappointing. We did also have several of the tapas as part of the group, which were ok. What a fun place!! Lots of families seem to gather here after church. There was a buffet as well as ordering from a menu. A live musician played from a corner stage as well as wandering through the tables of diners.Service was friendly, helpful and excellent. Food was plentiful and very good.A fun, lively and friendly place. Try it!!!
