Casa Mexicana

I sat at the bar for an early dinner.Started off with chips and salsa. Pretty typical, nothing outstanding. Ordered a beer and the Grande Chimichanga. It had four different meats inside, pork, chicken, beef and shrimp. It came perfectly cooked. The chimi was huge, almost ate it all, came close. The staff were fast and friendly. Wonderful Mexican restaurant!

El Agave

So this was not our first time at El Agave but maybe not my favorite. We had the table side guacamole and it was ok. Way too many onions though. My dinner companions both had a salad (one chicken fajita and one steak fajita) they both enjoyed theirs. I had the chicken soup. Never have I had chicken soup with cauliflower and such in it. It was almost disgusting and it was barely warm.We will go back again because it’s as close to real Tex-Mex as I can find in north Mississippi.Side note......we should have ordered the onion rings!! They are the BEST!!!!

Green Roof Lounge

The Green Roof Lounge is a chef-driven, service oriented lounge located on the roof of the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Oxford.

The lounge is on the fifth floor of the Oxford Marriott. They have some excellent small plates like bacon and brussels, meatballs in red sauce and skewered shrimp. This is quite convenient for hotel residents but not open every night. There are other good restaurants nearby, however, that would be a better choice for a pleasant sit down meal. The lounge seating is minimal, including stools at the bar, and the combination of side conversations and piped in music can be distracting. We were there in March so sitting outside was not an option, although that would be much more attractive during warmer evenings.

Finally.... Oxford is blessed with a new lavish and chic establishment where one can unwind. The wine selection is top of the line and the staff is quite prolific of each bottle's flavor to meet your taste. I love the bar and the stools are something out of a retro 1930s boutique hotel bar. It definitely has a classic touch that is needed on The Square. The Latin meatballs and Deviled eggs are phenomenal (two of my favorites). I highly recommend The Sipp and everything it has to offer to anyone in the Oxford area. I will return. Keep up the good work!!Thank you so much for your kind words!! We're so glad you got to taste some of our favorites from the kitchen while enjoying our wine selection at the same time! We look forward to seeing you again soon!!!Cheers!!
