If you're visiting the Detroit/Dearborn area, this off-the-beaten-path deli is worth looking into. A tiny treasure that caters to the Ford Motor Company crowd (they shut down the first week in July) serves deli sandwiches at their best. I highly recommend the "Carol's Temptation" but there isn't a bad sandwich on the menu. The soups are also very good. Be sure to try their award-winning brownies. You'll thank me!

Still the best breakfast in the city. Hearty breakfast on a Snowmageddon Saturday!Big portions. Reasonably priced. Bottomless cup of coffee. Great staff! Opens at 7:00 am 6 days a week.Parking lot and bicycle parking.A perennial favorite.

Well worth the trip. Delicious subs starting at $5 and offering custom subs/sandwiches by the pound. Variety of meats available. Highly recommend the Gonella's regular sub for your first time. I tried the 18 layer this time and it was huge for $8.50. I think for most people the 5, 6, or 12 layer is just right. I love the potato salad here and also tried the chicken salad which I ended up buying a container of for a sandwich from home the next day. Cold beverages, chips/snacks, desserts, a variety of deli salads like tuna, chicken, veggie, potato, pasta, and so on available by weight. A much better bargain than chain sub shops and a Detroit original/gem. No inside seating - to go fare only.
