He went for appetizers and drinks with another couple. We decided upon some appetizers and having the Tomahawk Steak sliced up for us to share. It was perfect they make great drinks the steak was awesome the other appetizers really good. About the only thing like that was a little lacking was the tuna Tower. Because it was small and short it certainly didn't resemble a tower, it was a great night the bartender took excellent care of us. My suggestion would be if you want to go in and have drinks and an appetizer in the bar area get there early as it fills up.

We were reserved a large table for my boyfriend and I for my birthday, which was very nice of the restaurant to do. Service was excellent. We were brought bread and drinks right away. We had the scallops and braised short ribs as an appetizer. It was my boyfriend’s first time having scallops and he loved it! I had the Ahi Tuna, he had the teriyaki salmon - both cooked to perfection. Sauces were delcious. A dessert was provided, on-the-house, for my birthday. Our server, Shawni, was very personable and always available when we needed anything. My only critique would be that the dress code should be enforced. It is a fine dining restaurant and states business casual attire but there were people walking in wearing jean shorts, baseball caps, ripped jeans, etc. While others were dressed in suits and nice dresses. It was a bit off-putting, as there is a sign in the lobby that states no hats.Thank you Jessica for your kind words. We are honored that you chose to come and celebrate with us and are delighted that you enjoyed your meal with us.

We went back twice when we were in Detroit. The service staff were very obliging and the menu had good basic choices. Be aware however that this is a cigar lounge and smoking is not only allowed it is indulged. That said the ventilation is top notch.

We waited quite a while for a table on a busy Sunday around 2:30 pm, but boy was it worth the wait! Among us we had bananas foster French toast, a seafood pasta, a burger and an entree salad. Everyone was extremely happy with their choice. Our server was helpful and efficient. The atmosphere is very lively - this seems to be THE place to go. If I lived nearby it would certainly become MY go-to spot.

My husband and I went there June 30th for our wedding anniversary dinner where we were greeted by Dee who is the maitre D. She was so kind and courteous and got us to our table quickly. Once we got there, she had already decorated our table with beautiful hearts and a card from her and the team. She teamed us with Jessica, Who she said would take great care of us and she was right! Between Jessica and Dee they treated us like VIP's and waited on us hand and foot! The meal was equally amazing Everything from the bread to the appetizers to the main course was absolutely delicious. And you definitely have to try their signature pineapple drink made with stoli's this period it is summer in a glass! Thank you all so much for making our evening memorable!

We went on a weekday night for dinner. This place has a active bar scene. People were 3 deep at the bar. It is very loud, even in the dinner area. There are many wait staff and they are very attentive. The food is average and expensive.

Be prepared to wait....let me give you some insight into wait times. Before 8 AM it 15-20 min, from 8-10 AM it can vary but about 30 min, and after 11:30 AM forget about quick bite to eat, it’s a 45 min wait. If it’s a holiday- might be up to an hour! When you do sit down, food is delicious but if your have a party larger than 4, you feel like the server is rushing you out, like they may say, “can I get you a box honey”. What to order? Pancakes, Omelettes or anything else. An other tip, If you ask your server for a go Cup for Hot Chocolate or hot drinks, drink it there and take it to go too!

Griffin Claw Brewing Company

Reviewed By FlyAtNight

I went to Griffin Claw last weekend and was so impressed. This is a restaurant with an on-site brewery. The selection of their beers was very good. There were about 20 listed on the menu, including wheat, IPA, lager, pilsner, stout and ciders. I had 2 flights (8 small glasses) and a burger and fries. Some of the beers were outstanding, and a some just OK. The burger was delicious and cooked to order. Seating is Oktoberfest style - lots of large tables and an outdoor section. It was a very relaxed setting. I will definitely return during our next visit to the Detroit area.

The whole menus looks really tasty but I settled on a bacon, cheddar and wild mushroom omelette with a side of bacon fried rice and a cup of coffee. The staff was friendly and attentive (but not bothersome). The atmosphere was filled with considerate conversations (with the occasional elevated voice of a child - it seems very family friendly). The food came out quickly and very hot - just be careful with your first bite ;-). Great flavors and there were no runny eggs to be found! I would definitely come back here on the next trip and with the family.
