As the title says, this restaurant serves great Mexican food and the best customer service I have received in Nicaragua. They aren't afraid to recommend you food on the menu and even they offered to my group a free drink to try it. If you are around and want great food and feel like they really appreciate your presence, go to this restaurant.

Great veggie burger here, great smoothies ! Very tasty and served fast as well,
LOTS of shakes and healthy type smoothies to choose from here.menu has both fast food style and typica Nica entrees.
The staff is great and wanna practice their English with you.You can practice Spanish with them.
The bathroom was clean also.I would come here again for sure.

We opted for a medium vegetarian pizza and salad with vegetables. We found the medium pizza large enough for us providing three large slices each for two people. The salad had a good variety of ingredients and comes with options to dress the salad with oils and herbs or chilli flakes. Pizza bases are thin and the pizza themselves were good with a variety of vegetables and not too much mozzarella. Good value house red wine is served in glasses, half or full carafes.
Difficult to find particualy in the dark.

Had maybe the best rib eye steak I've ever eaten for a reasonable price and it wasn't even the premium angus cut. It almost melted in my mouth it was so tender, a little salty but I like that. 3rd floor balcony was more open air and cooler.

Mojito was excellent, although pricey. Guess we pay for the view which is fun to overlook the busy street. Carne asada was thin, over-cooked (ordered medium rare) and flavorless except for abundance of salt. Street meat is far superior!

had a large group here. they managed the group fairly well and the food was pretty good. The tostones with seafood/shrimp were a little weird with a cream/mayonaise sauce on it. I wouldn't recommend that again. They had a terrific hot sauce made of Jolokia Chile.

During our week-long stay in Matagalpa, we made it a point of coming here almost every afternoon to just sit in air-conditioning and relax. They offer a daily "promoción" for 100 córdobas (about $4) with a featured drink and a dessert. They feature coffee locally grown in the region.

El Gran Cafe is a great European style coffee shop located quite close to the Cathedral/ Central Park area of downtown Matagalpa. They make perfect specialty coffees as well as Americano style breakfasts and desserts. They have good bench Seating adjacent to windows and the restaurant is air conditioned.
We were able to buy a couple of pounds of coffee beans from the owner.....beans we are now savouring back here at home. Great meals complimented with some of the best coffee we tasted in the entire country. That's a combination that's very hard to beat and is a perfect way to start the day.
