When we visit our daughter in Bethesda, we like to try a variety of restaurants. Italian is our favorite so we made a reservation at La Panaterria. Our meals were excellent, waitstaff very efficient, manager and chef friendly. It reminded us of a favorite restaurant in Modena, Italy. We definitely will return.

Something for everyone. We enjoy the Smokey pizza options and the variety of meat toppings ... kids can also get plain cheese, which keeps everyone happy. Salads are also tasty.Ranks poorly on the bang-for-buck scale. Food is good, though it's pricey for individual-sized pizzas.Three ping pong tables at the back of the restaurant are a nice way to kill time as you wait for a table to open. However, lines form for the ping pong tables as well, so it could have you flashing back to lines at Disney World. Budget accordingly (wallet and time) and grab a drink at the bar as the table-waits can routinely be 45 minutes at peak 7pm dining times.

Last night was our first visit to Sfoglina, and it was my birthday, which my husband had mentioned when he made the reservation. All the staff wished me Happy Birthday. Nice!Enjoyed a creative cocktail and a superb meal with good chianti. My husband was thrilled at the selection of grappas. The ambiance: lovely and the staff attentive. Our meal was exceptional and worth the price. Look forward to returning for another special occasion.

Between either going to Positano Ristorante Italiano, or nearby La Panetteria Italian Restaurant, downtown Bethesda is BLESSED to have so many delicious options...and if you live/work near there...you know...cursed with all too often difficult parking.Nice food, nice setting, and nice host. Speaking of nice setting...now that they weather is warming up (end of April 2019), on a nice day, if the front patio is open...dine under the grape trellis'...beautiful!...you can just imagine yourself being in Positano (which I have been...breathtakingly beautiful).I prefer larger portion for the amount I pay, but hey, that's probably why I'm a bit more chunky-husky than most healthy-eating/healthy-portions Europeans! :-DParking is always tough in the heart of Bethesda-proper, especially during weekend lunch & diner...but, its not so big that you can't stroll around a bit. Watch your time on the parking meters so you don't get a ticket. Restroom is handicap accessible, but way in the back. As an aside, the Owner/Operator, she makes a GREAT home made jam that she shares with some regular customers. Grazie!

Stumbled across it by accident and ended up being delicious Greek and Italian food! MI got a Greek salad with shrimp. Salad/veggies were fresh and the shrimp were jumbo and cooked/seasoned perfectly. Pizza also looked amazing. They have $5.99 daily cash and carry out specials including gyros, tacos, subs, burgers and veggie lasagna. Lots of free parking in the back.

We ordered a Margherita pizza with sausage and it was amazing. We also ordered the caponata and an Antipasto consisting of prosciutto,cheese and various vegetables which was excellent. Great service and an extensive wine list. Half price wine every Wednesday night!

I am usually adverse to chain restaurants,especially Italian restaurants. Coming from the New York area, I have come to appreciate real Italian cooking.Maggiano's was suggested by friends and a group of us et there for dinner. What a disappointment .Our waist was so confused when we asked about food allergies that he sent the chef to our table. He was not much of a help either. The service was agonizingly slow and the entrees just mediocre. The service should have been better as they restaurant was not very crowded. The waiter initially forgot my wife' entree which finally arrived after the rest of us had started dining. I don't anticipate returning to Magliano's in the future.

Phenomenal is the only word I can tell! Food was outstanding as expected. Really appreciated the attentiveness of the wait staff. What stood out for me was the service. Our server, khaki is very Beautiful and Attractive. She has Prettiest Smile. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. She made us aware of highlights on the menu and suggested many options without seeming pushy. Highly recommend to visit Lias and ask for Khaki. I would definitely go back again and will definitely ask for Khaki section.Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! I have made sure to pass along you r compliments to Khaki.
