We passed by Mariestad on the way to the west coast and found this place on TripAdvisor. The location is in the middle of a residential area, thus a GPS is recommended. We tried the Thai Green and Red Curry and a Chinese Beef with mixed onion. It was impressively good taste. We did not expect is from such a small place. The waitress was really helpful and arranged what we needed. If you are in the neighborhood, this is a great lunch place!

We were there with 2 persons. The service was excellent and the food really very delicious. We ate a starter, a main course and a dessert. All the 3 were perfect. The decoration of the food was attractive and the taste brilliant.

Myself and my wife returned to this venue after previously having an excellent experience here. It was my 50th birthday and decided to go here instead of Kingfisher in town purely because we felt it would be a step above. We were wrong.
Initially we were greeted by a good waiter (with the beard), who has great manners and we expected it would be him serving us throughout the evening.
I mentioned it was my 50th birthday and said so in the understanding that they would make extra effort, and the restaurant was quite empty at that point so we were not placing any extra burden on the staff.
I ordered oxfile and my wife ordered entrecote. A different waiter brought our food to the table, I assume our original waiter left for the evening.
This new waiter had no pleasantry and the experience felt quite empty. As we started to eat, my wife noticed that most of her meat was in fact pure fat. My potatoes were not thoroughly cooked through.
When this man returned to our table I brought it to his attention that my wife's meat was not good, and pure fat, to which he replied "That is how entrecote can be".
This is not acceptable at all, we are very aware of how entrecote should be, and this was a shocking cut of meat and insulting to us who are paying a higher end price for pure fat on a plate.
when we decided it was enough, a new waitress came to our table, and took our plates and asked us would we like dessert. To which we replied yes.
Thirty minutes later, the menu arrived...
We ordered from yet again, a different waitress, making up the total servers to four, not at all a good dining experience and not what we had hoped for.
For two dinners, and two desserts, and two orange juices, the total price came to 928 SEK.
We are really upset and angry that our experience was so below standard and cost us near 1000 kronor for a really bad meal. Disappointing.
My 50th birthday was not celebrated as I expected.

Service here was friendly and very helpful. Food was served quickly, quite big portions for Sweden's standards, and all was very good. Good kebab's and pasta dishes. Recommended.

Vi hade läst i lunchguiden i tidningen om att det skulle serveras lövbiff och potatisgratäng med sås på fredagen så vi tänkte att vi skulle gå dit. Det fanns ett par ställen till med potatisgratäng på menyn den dagen men vi bestämde oss för X-baren ändå för att det brukar vara bra. Den här gången blev det inte så vi tänkt. Det vi såg på menyn var lövstek bland ett par andra alternativ. Vi beställde lövstek och så fick vu potatis till. Då slog det mig att det faktiskt skulle varit potatisgratäng men det såg vi inte att någon hade. Vi fick inte heller frågan om det heller. Typiskt. Det smakade bra ändå men var lite synt eftersom det inte var det man var inställd på. Lövsteken var ju ingen lövbiff, Säkert lite för dyrt men då ska man inte heller skriva det i lunchguiden. Det verkade vara något pressat nötkött som var svenskt enligt menyn, Salladsbord i form av pizzasallad, ärtor, morötter, oliver, cole slow och lite annat och dryck från maskin ingår samt kaffe på maten. Lättlunch i form av soppa finns också men även annat från menyn som inte är dagens t ex hamburgare, Annars bra mat dvs rejäl husmanskost.

Although we are used to real Italian food this Pizzeria is really good. Pizza is very tasty and food is prepared very fast. A lot of local people are eating here which is a good sign. Free salad and bread. We can recommend it. Br from Austria.

Asian Palace is one of my favourite restaurants, mainly because of the great and friendly service, but also because of a good location in the town centre, a good lunch buffet and good quality food. The only thing I could wish for is weekend buffets, since I work in another city and seldom get to eat the buffet. But for take away and sit-in dinners it's a really nice place!

This is a very popular summer-café situated on the way to Ekudden camping site. It's open between 10 am and 20 pm everyday and you can sit inside, on the Terrace or outside. You can have coffee, cakes, cookies, buns, sandwiches toasties and waffles there at reasonable prices. If you like you can try the miniature golf with different local buildings. This is a popular place among locals at all ages. I do recommmend it to our tourists who visit Mariestad in the summer. There is also a profile on Facebook for more info and updates.
