Angelos Pizza

If you are staying in Ellsworth to check out Acadia National Park make sure you plan accordingly because we found everything in Ellsworth closed before 8pm (we were looking on Wednesday and Thursday nights). We stumbled upon Angelos our first night in Ellsworth after doing a grocery trip for the week and not wanting to cook after just arriving. The mushoom and pepperoni pizza we got was absolutely amazing. We also ordered a greek salad which wasn't anything too special but it sufficed. We caught ourselves coming back from the park after 8 on Thursday and after doing some searching for anything that was open, we ended up back at Angelos because it was so good and ordered the same pizza. This time with breadsticks which was basically just pizza dough with cheese and sauce on the side, and a garden salad instead of a greek salad which was literally the same salad without feta and olives. All in all, if you don't want to cook for the night Angelos was a great spot. They also have some great combo deals on pizza if you are traveling with a family and are look to spread out a couple dinners of pizza across the week to save some dough.

DragonFire Wood Fire Pizza

Amazing wood fire pizza, crisp craft beer and wine, signature french fries, fresh salads, dense Stromboli, and PHENOMENAL WINGS!

I love Dragonfire because they bake their pizza in a huge wood-fired oven that runs at amazingly hot temperatures that results in a crust that's to die for. On top of that, they use good ingredients, offer PBR on tap, and the staff are friendly!I don't come this way all the time but whenever I've got a hankering for pizza that's better than your average (Town Name) House Of Pizza, this is where I go.This time, we got a pizza with Italian sausage, ricotta, and anchovies a Greek salad, and some PBR. All in total with tip I think it came out to about 40 bucks, which is pretty good for dinner for two and a couple rounds of drinks! You can also get fun bar food like poutine which you can't get at a lot of other places in Maine. My one gripe is that they're closed Sunday. But you can't have everything!Oh thank you so much. Im glad you enjoyed us! We hope to see you soon.

Well, how should I start this one. We ate here about a week and half ago and ordered a large cheese pizza. I guess I should say that I am from NY, and even though the pizza here has a thin crust, all the pizza parlors from NYC to the Hudson Valley do not burn the crust - at least the ones that I frequent. So the pizza, in my opinion, is not the best NY style pizza. The restaurant seems to be too small for eat it, but there are about 10 tables to sit at. There is no A/C, so the heat from the oven really pushes the temperature up to be a little unbearable. There are fans that were on and the windows were open, but that didn't do any good. There is a small game room in the back with Pinball machines. Oh and get this, the guy behind the counter didn't even know what a garlic knot was... Hmm...

We were traveling with a group and felt like pizza, so ordered. This place used to be Maple Knoll Pizza, and took pointers on their pizza from the former owner, Buzzy. The pizza was great- especially the crust- just like Buzzy used to make. Check it out!

We stop here a lot, and buy sandwiches and beverages to take on hikes and picnics down east. We almost always stop here because they are always friendly, and there is a much better selection of food than most convenience stores. For food, there is everything from sandwiches and wraps, to fried chicken, pizza, hotdogs, etc. There are lots of cakes and whoopie pies, as well as slices of prepared frozen pies, tons of beverages, and about any flavor of potato chips you can imagine.I didn't give it a 5, because they called it a restaurant, and as a restaurant, it would probably be more of a 2, but as far as convenience stores in this area go, it's probably the best of all, so I gave it a 4.
