Stopped by this brew pub restaurant after visiting the nearby Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum and before returning on a late afternoon Amtrak train. Despite our group having reservations, we were elate seated, and the food we order was late being delivered. We had to hastily repack everything to go to catch our ride to the train station, so most of our food was cold by the time we opened it up on the train. I gather the food is tasty when still served hot, but not a good experience overall.

Mi Sen Noodle Bar

Have you ever finished a big bowl of noodle soup and wished you had more room in your stomach to try something else? Well here you can! Instead of one big bowl, you can try a variety of yummy noodle soups we have to offer.

Reviewed By RCS3rd

We had heard good things about Mi Sen and on an early Saturday evening when several restaurants still had not opened we decided to give it a try. It was frigid outside and walking into the warm restaurant was pleasing, despite the cold we did not mind the window seat. Several tables were taken when we arrived and more people were filing in as we departed. For this Saturday they had a special appetizer: Chormuang, An ancient and savory thai snack known to be rare and royal in Thailand. The name translates to “violet bouquet” from its flower shape and purple color from the butterfly pea flower. The evening fillings were: shrimp, chicken, peanut, onion, palm sugar and garlic. $6 for 3 It is absolutely a must, super delicious and very beautiful, almost too pretty to eat. Score 5*Other tastings: - Thai fries, buttercup squash battered with red curry seasoning served with 2 dipping sauces: red curry mayo and sweet chilli sauce. Sweet and delish. Score 4*- Pan Moh, 4 steamed rice crepes filled with pork and peanut, garnished with cilantro and crispy garlic. We were missing a dipping sauce and found a good pairing with the sweet chilli sauce that came with the fries. Score 3*- Pork Panang curry served over rice with steamed vegetables. Although the meat has the delicious sauce around it, this is not the typical saucy panang dish, and we greatly wished for more sauce to stir into the rice and coat the vegetables. The server told us that the way the dish is made we could not order more sauce by itself. We highlyrecommend that more sauce be incorporated! Score 3*- Beef Khao Soi, slow cooked beef in rich and creamy curry served over rice noodles, garnished with crispy noodle, red onion, scallions, cilantro and lime, with a side of pickled cabbage. The generous amount of meat was very tender and the sauce delicious. Score 4*The service was efficient, friendly and service minded. (* We rate the dishes we try on a scale from 1-5, 5 being outstanding.)

We veered off the interstate, drove through an industrial neighborhood, and found Saeng Thai House near the Greyhound Station. Parking challenging. Interior small and pleasant. Fresh spring roll very good. Ordered Drunken Noodle with chicken. Arrived quickly with supersaturated noodles. Very gooey. No snow peas as advertised on menu. Only two pieces of broccoli. Good spicing. No other diners the whole time we were there. Nice service. Probably won’t return.

Had an outstanding culinary experience, while experience was a great value. I had the 4 course dinner menu which included Oysters, Demi Chirasi, Toro, and Uni (sea urchin) with sake, one of the freshest and beautifully prepared I hade. The service was outstanding, with each course wonderfully described. Others at the table had the Omakase which after seeing made me want to come back and try. While a wonderful Japanese dining experience, it was an outstanding meal for any cuisine.

Pai Men Miyake

This is a friendly and pleasant place to eat. The menu (for lunch and I think dinner) lets you choose one item from each of two columns. My friend and I are not small eaters, but neither of us came close to finishing what we ordered, which in each case was two items. We very much enjoyed our meal. My friend was very happy with his curried ramen, but I found the carrot and daikon salad which he ordered (he let me taste) to be a bit bland. I had the pokedon, an bowl which looked small compared to my friend's soup, but turned out to be ample. There was quite a lot of tuna chunks and cucumber, and a great deal of seasoned rise underneath (mayonnaise-based?), and hint of spiciness. I also had the brussels sprouts, which have long been a favorite of mine here -- roasted and full flavored with a sauce which seems soy-based.I noticed sushi rolls being served to other diners, and they are about twice the size of what would normally be seen in a sushi place.I find myself wondering if it could become possible to get two smaller salads, instead of the one enormous one. Regardless, while this is more than I would usually spend for lunch, it is good value, especially if you are hungry.

Lots of craft brew and delicious cocktails but the highlight was the food. Really unusual but great tasting lobster toast. Incredible mushroom Tom khan soup and smoked lamb khan soi. The later has spoiled me for the khan soi that I love in McLean VA. We also had the fry bread with saamjang butter. It was ok but not in the same league as the others. For dessert, we had soft serve ice cream with carmelized honey, honeycomb and chocolate shell.

Last minute decision to go there on a Saturday night and didn’t have to wait too long to get in, but worth it. The people were very friendly, the food was pretty quick to come out. A very lively atmosphere. Chicken skewers, beef skewers, bike choy, Brussels spouts, bacon wrapped asparagus and dates were all fantastic.

We are return visitors and last ate here in 2015. I can say that in 2019 the food is still just as great and delicious. The Panang Curry Vegetables and Tempeh is my favourite and the homemade lemonade. This restaurant is really popular so it's worth making a booking at peak times.
