The burgers are the best around and love the corn dogs too. Friends have raved about the Fish and Chips as well but I haven't personally tried them. Please don't expect fast service of food because it's cooked fresh to order but it's well worth the wait...usually 15-20 minutes max....

The restaurant was very good but only open for dinner and only 5 evenings per week. We both enjoyed the 4 course dinner they offer at a special price but they also have an a la carte menu. I had the roasted fresh BC Halibut and it was mouth watering and my Husband enjoyed the roasted rack of lamb as his entre. It's pricey but enjoyable and the view is amazing.

I usually don't review unless it is pretty bad and unfortunately this was.
This used to be a great choice for fine dining but is slipping.
The place was stifling and no one opened the door for air circulation until way too late. There was a wedding the day before and no one had bothered to put the prosecco or sparkling water in the fridge to cool so that was out.
Service hit and miss forgot our bread, no ice in water, no utensils for foie gras and when we used our main course ones they were not replaced until we asked for them for our main course of halibut. Ugh!
Foie gras was terrible-- not sure what it really was absolutely no flavour at all.
Halibut was overdone ++++
and served with frozen corn mixed with a few slices of summer squash --- hash would have been better, in a meat and apple gravy???? Poor presentation didn't make it any more appetizing.
Don't know what's happened but they better address their problems because when all the summer tourists staying there die down I guarantee the locals will go elsewhere.
And the tab for all this----$165.00 before the tip.

We are at the end of Garden Bay Rd. With a stunning view of the enterance of Pender Harbour. We are surrounded by water from the ocean and one minute from Garden Bay lake. Famous for our Milkshakes and Fish and Chips, homemade burgers, come on down. We are opened for the season and hope to see you in 2017.

Seems like our trip all entails finding quaint nice places but huge waits for food. Very apologetic lady advises 45 minute wait. Wow. Burger one order Caesar salad the other. Oh well. On holidays we will wait. So friendly and accommodating . Even brought out a small ice cream for our dog while waited. Food arrived and my burger was awesome. Followed with crispy onion rings. But the clincher !! Real old fashioned milk shakes to die for. So good. I'd give it a 5 but unfortunately I'm probably generous with a 3 after a 45 minute wait.

We arrived as a party of 2 at 7.15, we were informed that we may to wait as long as 30 mins for food, not a problem, we wanted a relaxing evening. Drinks order took 25 minutes, food order a further 35 minutes, 45 minutes later food arrived. We weren't given cutlery, food quality very poor. A pot of tea was ordered and was cold when it arrived. Waitress service very poor. Stuck to the carpet in the bar as I left the building. Certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not hard to see why its no longer a buzzing place although with its views it should be a fantastic place to visit. As a 1st time visitor to Canada I am glad I've had the opportunity to visit lots of fantastic local places before this one as it would have left me feeling very very underwhelmed.

This restaurant which in the past had a fair reputation has been recently re opened by a new owner cum chef and provides consistently excellent dining in a beautiful location, accessible by water and road. It offers a good choice of appetizers and main courses. Each dish is carefully prepared and comes to the table hot and elegantly presented.. Regardless what you chose it will be tempting to the palate and pleasing to the eye.. Surprisingly one is also greeter with nice fresh bread and butter., which nowadays is a rare offering..There are also specialty cocktails to start and a good choice of both white and red wines, beers , ciders and apres. The service is prompt, friendly and you are being treated like a respected member of the family. You can sit outside on the deck and enjoy the view of the bay and the passing boats, or inside in the dining room.. The decor is simple but with comfortable Seating and spotlessly clean, including the restroom.
The restaurants is open only Thursday to Sunday starting at 5 PM'.
We were there on a Saturday evening and even though the tourist season did not start yet, it was nearly full. Once the season starts, I am sure that Reservations will be recommended for choice times.

We went to the bar side so no kids allowed. The restaurant does. They where changing up the beer at this time but had a good variety from the local brew pubs. They have big screan tv to view sporting events and a pool table. The food was very good butter chicken was outstanding. Cost was average nothing out of the ordinary.

Attended 23 Aug 10am for breakfast as our resort Painted Boat was closed for these hours. The menu was good enough and prices also very reasonable. Counter girl Brittany was smiling, friendly, pleasant and got our order right. Nice girl, helpful as we have never been in this area or café. A blond girl, glasses served our food, sorry no name tag but very nice, pleasant and gave us all we needed. The coffee was brewed perfect, three choices, honey off by the side, wow, great tasting. Adequate I think but could of been bigger plates for more potatoes, when there is four slices of bread on it also. Kind of crowded! But food, eggs just right. Café just off the side of street, little village atmosphere with art for sale, jewelry, pottery ect. Nice place to eat before going on to the hwy. Near a community hall with tourist information pamphlets ect. RCMP det with buffalo hanging in round wooden carved out style. Do not think there was a Canadian flag by the station? Must be? Brittany working hard with older lady in the open kitchen. Think this was a neat, low priced restaurant and sure excellent coffee. Happytravels.

The Back Nine Bistro is managed by the great folks from the Backeddy Resort and Marina. We are part of the Pender Harbour Golf Club and we are a great place to stop and eat before or after your round of golf or if you're just looking for a great dining out option. We have something for everyone! Our hours of operation are Sun - Thur 11am - 8pm and Fri - Sat 11am - 9pm. We're open for coffee, muffins and grab'n go items at 8am every morning.

We played the Monday afternoon Nine & Dine - had a great time. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent (butter chicken and caesar salad). Staff are super and very helpful. Take a golf break to Pender Harbour and finish up with dinner at the Back Nine.
