We came for a late Sunday lunch, and had the best experience ever. Excellent service. Warm, welcoming staff. We expressed curiosity regarding the towns pride: sour gherkins, that lots of Sunday tourists had bought buckets of at the market. The restaurant provided us with a delicate selection of gorgeous gherkins before our main courses were served. What a delight! It was not added on the bill either. The mains were excellent also. If near by - do not miss it!

My son and me did stay nearby visiting the Tropical Island. Both hungry for a steak did remember the "western pub" we stayed years ago - and here we go. Friendly staff, cool ambiance and great steaks - beside this kiddies will have fun with the railway running beneath the sealing every once in a while or with bowling. Peanuts at the table as tasty decoration, just throw the shells on to the floor (nice noise while walking). Prices are accordingly and very well. It's a definite dinner place to be when being around!

If you are tired of busy cities and rush it's definitely a place to go! Your morning will start with an amazing breakfast, then you can walk with huskies and get lots of positive emotions, in the evening some tasty goose and amazing beer the owners are super friendly and will always try to help you! Highly recommend this place!

Der Gurkenpaule lockt mit Namen und Größe alle Touristen an. Nett ist, das man sich direkt aus dem Holzpott Gurken nach belieben und Gewicht geben lassen kann. Hinten dran kann man auch ganz nett sitzen, ABER das Personal machte nicht den Eindruck das Sie etwas verkaufen wollen. Während ich vor den Gurkenfässern stand unterhielt sich das Personal privat, schaute ein paar mal zu mir rüber jedoch ohne Anstalten zu machen mich mal zu bedienen. Auf der anderen Seite an der Esssensausgabe, hier herrscht auch Selbstbedienung, ließ man uns auch eine ganze Weile warten, als wäre das nicht schon genug wurden wir auch noch unfreudlich bedient. Wir entschieden uns für die Spreewälder Spezialität Kartoffeln mit Quark und Leinöl, welches wir uns selbst drauf machen durften. Ich persönllich habe damit kein Problem, aber mal von dem Altersdurchschnitt des Tourismus im Spreewald ausgegangen wird sicher jeder 2. nicht den Umgang mit der Menge abschätzen können bei einem Gericht was er nicht alltäglich ist!
genau gegenüber ist auch ein Gurkenbetrieb, dort schmeckten mir die Gurken, als auch das Personal besser, zudem sitzt man da auch sehr schön und zwar dierekt am Wasser mit den Enten!

Beautiful Terrace dining experience overlooking the river. A menu that is seasonal and influenced heavily by the availability of local ingredients combined with local culinary flavors. All staff spoke decent English and were very friendly. I would call the pricing totally appropriate and we felt we got a good deal.
I would recommend this restaurant highly and would recommend the associated Strandhaus Hotel for overnight stays.

We visited this little restaurant in augustus and were surprised by the attention that was payed to the quality of the food. You could see and taste that the cook cooks with love. The food was tasteful and good prepared and the white house-wine (rizling) was very good.
There were two points of attention: at first was the salad fresh, but (as we think) just a bag from the supermarket and second, the stake was good prepared, but held a lot of (zehnen). When I pointed that out the only response was: Oh, Dass ist Schade.
Not any suggestion to solve this out.

Wir waren gestern zum Abendessen dort. Aufgrund unserer Erfahrung das wir bereits einmal ohne Reservierung weggeschickt wurden, hatten wir für gestern Abend extra reserviert.
Als wir ankamen mussten wir leider feststellen das uns ein Tisch auf der Terrasse reserviert wurde. Bei ca 19 Grad, mit Wind und leichtem Nieselregen dann allerdings gefühlte 15 Grad, war es doch schon sehr kalt draußen. Leider war aber auch kein Tisch mehr im Innenbereichen verfügbar an den wir wechseln hätten können.
Man hat dann gut reagiert und uns ein paar Decken gebracht, so das es dann in Verbindung mit einer Jacke aushaltbar wurde.
Die grundsolide deutsche Küche die dort angeboten wird hat dann mit ihren reichlichen Portionen auch gut geschmeckt.
Also bei besserem Wetter ist der Aussenbereich, mit seinem Blick auf den See, sehr zu empfehlen.

Today we ate lunch at the outdoor Terrace at the Schlossrestaurant. I'm a vegetarian and was thrilled to discover a vegetarian set menu (lunch menu only); price 22 Euros. The appetizer included a simple green salad with a wonderful light dressing and a delicious vegetable-filled pastry. The entree consisted of 2 fresh mushroom crepes with tomato ragout - simply perfect. Dessert was creme brulee with fresh blueberries - one of the most delicious treats I've ever had. My entire meal was sublime, and in a gorgeous setting, overlooking a large lawn. The only small complaint I have was that the service was not as good as the food. We waited much too long for desserts and then the bill.

We walked to this delightful restaurant on an island in the Spree. It had a lovely Biergarten and a charming inside dining room. The food was good, especially the plums and pancake for dessert.

Walked in on a Saturday evening when the place was packed. Fortunately one party had just left and a table was made ready within minutes. We ordered a variety of options including the Grillteller (different grilled meats), Paste with Veg and curry sauce and also the fish menu from the day's menu, which was particularly nice. The veg on the side (carrot, cucumber in dill sauce) was a treat and the local fish excellent. Overall, we were very happy with the quality of the food and the service. I recommend this place to everyone.
