My server warned me that British customers normally find the meals not as hot or spicy as in UK, he shouldn't have mentioned it really. I found no discernible difference between a karahi here or there. The starter was served in a different way, breaded chicken instead of cubed but hey, standard would be boring. The main course was very tasty, full of meat and they even provided a Keema nan on request that was not on the menu, well done kitchen!

Popped into this restaurant as it looked welcoming from across the river, definitely a very nice surprise !
The food was absolutely fantastic, delicate, surprising and prepared with local ingredients, explained with much enthusiasm by the waiter. A small appetizer between each dish added a nice touch.
Highly recommended if you like good food, the quality you get here is definitely on the high side.

Nice to eat outside on the open Terrace with good atmosphere and friendly enough servers. There's the positives, now for the food. Quality was decent enough, wouldn't expect too much from fried chicken pieces and cheese stuffed deep fried peppers or grilled steaks, all of which tasted ok, nothing special. The strange aspect was having everything delivered at once and when we queried this, the answer was that we didn't specify the starter before the mains. Now I consider myself to be fairly worldly wise and tolerant of quaint local customs, but this was a new one on me. I mentioned that by definition, starters are there to start the meal but our server insisted we didn't specify it. At this point it wasn't getting through so we decided just to eat it all before it went cold, which of course half of it did!

So. Spanish food has never manged to impress on me. Not at home with a Spanish papa cooking with all his love, not in Madrid, not even at the 2 star micheline restaurant we went to there.
So no2. Why on earth did I take my best friends in Linköping to a tapas bar for my farewell party?
Well, I don't know, but it's something I will never regret nor forget. We had a wonderful evening. The food was actually supergood. We ordered more although we were full. The sparkling sangria was also fantastic and the waiter was helpful. The waitress was acting like if she gave us the honour to let us be there and certainly gave us the laugh of the evening, but also managed to drag down the score of the place. I was almost about to give 3 stars.
But no. If you're going out in Linköping. This is the place.
For its price group. Certainly 4 stars.

Johannes Kok is a so-called Steakhouse located in downtown Linköping.
Well, the venue is cozy though a but constricted and dark. The waiters are really efficient though neither kind nor smiling. The food is good though the menu offers (very very very) limited options.
A bit overpriced too.
And oh... got annoyed by the fact that the restaurant shares its lavatories with people from outside. When you dine in on a Friday or Saturday night, you get annoyed by : 1) drunken people super noisy, loudy, peeping at the restaurant 2) drunken people super noisy, loudy, peeing everywhere but in the toilet itself.

We checked TA to find a nice restaurant in central Linkoping. We found Bk Living Room and went for it.
At the entrance was a sign: Wait here. So we did. But after 5-10 minutes we took the menu and sat down at a table. Well, no waitress arrived and after a couple of minutes we chose to leave for another restaurant.
Service is important!

This restaurant is quite big even though the gate looks small. It is quite decorated, ambiance is friendly and I liked the lamps. Service is very quick. Food feels pricey compared to portion size, thankfully the taste was good! I tried vegetarian bok choy which was called pak choi or something else. The yellow fellow box dish changes everyday. That day it was chicken dish, which was actually sufficient for two people. The mango daiquiri was delicious. Tips are expected and we got a table without booking.

Grejen är att vi gör det på ett enkelt sätt. Menyn är full av svåra ord som antipasti, primi, secondi och dolci, men hos oss går det lika bra att strunta i allt vad tradition heter. Du kan blanda och beställa lite som du vill. Det är så vi vill att 1854 ska kännas: som en salig röra av dåtid, nutid, högt, lågt och spektakulärt. Med grym mat och skön atmosfär. Och stämning som får en toscansk familjemiddag att blekna.

Everything about our experience at 1854 was average. The server wasn't super helpful but wasn't totally absent. The pizza wasn't the best pizza in the world but wasn't the worst. The decor is trying to be cool but is just average. Even the price was just middle of the road for Sweden.
